General Hospital’s Brooke Kerr Unpacks Portia’s Big And Daring Move

General Hospital (GH) recently took a character in a whole new direction when mild-mannered mom and doctor, Portia Robinson, broke her Hippocratic oath and nearly killed a man just to save her daughter.

General Hospital Spoilers – Mom Of The Year

Portia (Brook Kerr) wasn’t about to let her daughter spend time in prison for a crime nobody really believed she committed, including the two victims of the crime, so she did what she had to do.

She used her doctor skills to bring a man out of a medically-induced coma before it was time, an act that could have easily killed him. But Oz Haggerty (Max Faugno) was the one witness who could attest to the fact that Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) bought the black market cell phone that was used to make a sex tape of Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Cameron Webber (Will Lipton) and not Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), so a mother did what a mother had to do — just in the nick of time.

General Hospital Updates – Brook Kerr Was Stunned By Her Character’s Actions

Portia put on her Mother Bear persona and you could see both her trepidation and her desperation when she administered the drug that woke Oz up. When Brook Kerr got the script and learned her character would be doing this, she was shocked.

“To date, my character definitely has been very by the book in how she goes about things, very logical, very matter-of-fact, very practical,” Kerr said in the September 11, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest.

“So, I thought it was very ironic for Portia to do a crime to help her daughter not be convicted for a crime that she didn’t do…But I love it. I had a blast. I thought it was something so fun and interesting to play. And it isn’t necessarily something she is good at either.”

Portia doesn’t even know she got help from Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper), who created an elevator emergency so that Portia could do her thing with nobody around. Now, Portia has to deal with the fact that Jordan knows two of her secrets. Her act with Oz Haggerty and that Trina may possibly be Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) daughter and not Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews). Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see how this story plays out.

  • Definitely hope that Curtis is not revealed to be Trina's father. But a DNA test not done at GH needs to performed. Portia needs to come clean with Curtis and let him know that she feels he may be Trina's father and go from there. It would be much better for Portia to spill the questioned beans than for Curtis to find out from someone else.
