General Hospital star Steve Burton, (Jason Morgan) is more than a daytime drama heartthrob. In fact, he’s a respected voice when it comes to wellness and mindset. Through his social media, he often shares motivational insights. And, his week, he brought a message about the challenges of transformation.
Change Is Always Hard
Burton’s message on Instagram started out with him saying, “Change Can Be Hard… But It’s Worth It.” Well, lots of people want change, but don’t know how to start. Even the ABC star admitted, “Let’s be honest… change is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do.”
Of course, his followers get it, as change is uncomfortable and scary. Notably, Steve challenged them by saying that a “comfort zone” is often easier, even when that zone is quietly destructive.
Nevertheless, the hunky General Hospital character offered hope, emphasizing that each new day presents a fresh opportunity to change direction. For the real-life Jason Morgan, the change to a better life contains a critical element: mindset. “If you can change your mindset, you can change your life,” he said. Then, he broke it down into three actionable, daily commitments.
Be Brutally Honest
First, the GH star talked about the need for brutal self-honesty. In other words, folks should acknowledge what needs to change without any sugar-coating.
Secondly, he stressed the importance of daily awareness through reflection. As he noted, it only takes a few quiet minutes each morning to sit with your thoughts, review the previous day, and get intentional about how you want to show up for the new one.
Perhaps the most powerful step was the third: choosing “victory over victimhood.” It seems a lot of people take the wrong approach to that, because fans could relate when he added, “Life isn’t happening to you, it’s happening for you.”
True to his practical approach, which fans saw in his discussions on time management and handling life’s hiccups, Burton also spoke about how real change doesn’t require massive, overnight overhauls. Instead, it’s built on consistency. “Small positive, daily, intentional choices,” he said, “will CHANGE your life.”
Fans React In The Comments
