Anna Devane Cautioned Chase That He Wasn’t Being Objective Where Willow Was Concerned

Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) cautioned Chase that he wasn’t being objective where Willow was concerned-even though in his mind, he thought he was! Viewers will remember that when Willow was still Charlotte Cassadine’s (Bluesy Burke) third grade teacher, she and Chase became very involved, living together.

They didn’t break up until Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) fought for custody of Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) and he traded partners-sort of.

Michael was involved with Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) at the time, and Sasha came up with a scheme to force Michael and Willow together for the sake of winning custody of Wiley.

Willow and Chase eventually married, but when he was in a wheelchair dying, poisoned by Peter August (Wes Ramsey) she cheated on him with Michael-she’s no prize!

Chase Is Still On The Case, And Has Been Talking To Willow A Lot

Chase is still on the case and has been talking to Willow a lot-but off the books and sometimes even off the clock! Even in the midst of the Quartermaines’ grief over losing Monica Quartermaine, (Leslie Charleson) Chase at times has focused more on Willow than the family he married into.

Part of that may be his wanting to protect Willow and protect her from Drew, seeing her being as controlled by him as she was by Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin). But in all his talks with Willow, subconsciously believing the best of her, suddenly a light bulb goes off in his head-and he realizes she has a large motive for murder. 

Everything that’s been discussed about her knowing the Quartermaine mansion and having access there to gaslight Sasha over her and Michael’s baby also clicks in-it all makes sense!

Chase Must Give Willow A Wakeup Call-And Himself!

Chase must give Willow a wakeup call-and himself, as his revelation has hit him suddenly, and hard, and it’s not going to be easy to bring her in for interrogation.

He considers asking Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) to do it, which may be wise-that way no appearance of favoritism can be used in court should Willow be arrested.

It’s a sad realization for Chase, but it’s one that’s needed to happen, because under the right conditions-or maybe the wrong ones-anyone can be pushed over the brink.

Anna decides since Dante is considered part of Michael’s family, she’ll interrogate Willow herself-Willow is distraught that she’s questioned in spite of the alibi Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) gave her.

She’s even more distraught when she’s brought to the station and sees Chase, and he’s not running to her rescue!
