General Hospital spoilers tease that Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) blew back into Port Charles on the heels of baby Irene Marie Davis Ashford’s shocking death.
Born sleeping, Irene would never meet her grandfather, but we have to question whether she would have had she lived, too. Ric has hardly been an involved father, even though Molly Lansing Davis (Kristen Vaganos) doesn’t seem to mind that he’s been so absent.
Ric’s venture into town has kept him there longer than expected since he took on Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) case, which isn’t thrilled everyone who has shared a past with him.
Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) doesn’t seem to mind him hanging around though. However, she hasn’t been forced to interact with him if she doesn’t want to either — and she really doesn’t. She made it quite clear to her ex-husband that there won’t be anything more than conversation and coffee between them.
Why? She’s not open to any kind of relationship. Ric accepted that, perhaps with a modicum of hope lingering in the back of his mind. But will he continue to accept her explanation when he sees her heading toward a reunion with her other ex-hubs, Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson)?
General Hospital Spoilers — Ric Never Takes No for an Answer
For as long as we’ve known Ric, he’s not been keen on being told no. He prefers to chase the women he is interested in until they give up and concede — or until he manipulates them with a cascade of lies that fool them into falling for him.
That never lasts, obviously. It didn’t in the case of Ric and Elizabeth. He destroyed her and their marriage after slipping her birth control pills to lead her to believe they couldn’t have a child.
That landed her in the hospital with an embolism, among other things he did. It’s safe to say Elizabeth’s explanation for not wanting a relationship was a polite way to decline any interest Ric may have in her, because she will never trust him again.
GH Spoilers Leak Elizabeth Can’t Change the Way She Feels
Lucky coming back into town is going to turn Elizabeth’s world upside down. Dr. Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) tried to tell her to keep an open mind, but there is nothing to suggest to Elizabeth that Lucky is a changed man or that she can expect more from him.
She’s been burned enough lately. While it was hardly Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) fault that he died, he did. Grieving that was hard on her and even harder to watch her boys go through.
Then, losing Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) the way she did came as a crushing blow to all of them too. So, it’s not entirely untrue that she doesn’t want to open her heart again, but hasn’t her heart always remained open to Lucky? The girl can’t help herself.
General Hospital Spoilers — Lucky Has Always Been the One
It’s true. Since a very young age, Lucky and Elizabeth have been one of those power couples that stole our hearts. Watching Lucky evolve into some version of his father — Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) — instead of the husband she needed him to be to her and father her sons needed was painful.
She doesn’t want to go through that again, but it sounds like Lucky has had a bit of an awakening and may show her that he has changed. Elizabeth could fall for that quickly — whether it’s true or not. As Ric watches from the sidelines, he’s not likely to take it gently that she just rebuffed his advances and is now accepting such from Lucky after he’s burned her so badly and been gone for ten years. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this shakes out.
