General Hospital spoilers claim Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) has a baby on board, and fans are wondering if she’s leaning closer to telling Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) all about it.
Sure, it would be a rather risky move given that this baby could be his, or it could be Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner), but Portia is looking more and more like she needs a friend right now — and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) just isn’t cutting it.
Portia suspects that if Curtis finds out she’s pregnant, he’ll want to stay together for the sake of the baby, and she’s not really feeling her marriage with him these days.
The more time she spends with Isaiah, the more it seems that’s where she wants to be — even if he’s nothing more than an escape from her painful reality.
But with a growing bump that’ll be hard to hide soon, she’s got some pretty important decisions to make. Can she trust Isaiah to keep this under his hat regardless of the outcome, or does she need to trust that he’ll help her shape that outcome?
Portia Knows Her Way Around the Lab
How many of us would be surprised if Portia started mulling over her options and considered altering the results of a paternity test as one of them? My guess is not many.
This doctor knows how to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes — she did it with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) for over twenty years while lying about who her father was.
What’s to stop her from doing it again to the same man? She’s bent on divorcing Curtis, and she only wanted to come clean about Trina after she decided to get back with him.
Are we about to see a reboot of Portia’s paternity faux pas? There’s just one problem: If the bab is Curtis’, she’ll have to get Isaiah on board with pretending it’s his.
This Move Will Come at a Cost
Not only will Portia devastate Curtis when he finds out the baby she is carrying belongs to someone else, but it’s going to crush Trina.
Will Portia really go this far to fake a DNA test and hide another one of Curtis’ children from him just to be free from her marriage? It might feel like a lose-lose situation up front — having to choose between staying in a marriage she doesn’t want, or losing her daughter along with it, but the alternative to Portia may be the inverse.
Staying with Curtis if the baby is his isn’t going to fix her marriage, but pretending the baby is Curtis’ even if it isn’t could possibly spare her from hurting Trina.
Quite the Commitment
Portia was feeling a certain way about Isaiah just weeks ago. She didn’t know if she even wanted a relationship; so this would be a major step forward for these two. Likewise, Isaiah is into Portia, but he wasn’t trying to rush things or risk his career.
He knows if this doesn’t pan out, or even if it does, the Co-Chief of Staff isn’t the one who’ll have to find another job. But pretending to raise a child that isn’t his is a lot to ask for.
What if Portia changes her mind someday? What if her relationship with Isaiah sours and she no longer wants to be tethered to him and recalls that she doesn’t have to be? What’s in this for him, other than keeping her around right now? Is that enough? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
