Of course, we are talking about Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and could have come about between them.
Even though they once had a beautiful wedding, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) ended up alive so they pretended as though it never happened.
But here’s the thing: a lot of people can’t help but wonder that once Carly and Sonny finally broke up, why didn’t Carly and Jason get back together? Were they never meant to be? That’s what soap fans want to know.
Clearly, General Hospital fans had a lot to say about the matter on social media.
Some even commented with, “They didn’t get back together because Jason has a very firm rule that he will not be with Carly when Sonny is alive due to November 30, 1999.”
What Ever Happened To Jason And Carly?
“He refuses to let himself get hurt like that again, so he doesn’t date Carly if Sonny is presumed alive.”
Another fan of the soap wrote, “They were never couple material…just like Jason and Liz were never couple material. They’re better off as friends. In their own ways, both Carly and Liz demand a perfection from Jason that he doesn’t always live up to.”
“Wish Jason had let Drew be crushed instead of saving him.”
And then there was this comment as well: “I recently rewatched this storyline and was very uncomfortable watching them as a couple. I was relieved to see Sonny walk in before they went any further. I wish things could’ve gone further with Britt around that time.”
Now, whether or not Carly and Jason ever try to bring back the spark between them again remains to be seen, but right now it looks highly unlikely that it’s going to happen anytime soon.
It goes without saying that General Hospital fans will simply have to tune in each and every day to find out what will happen next.

I don’t agree with Vaughn/Joss being a good romantic pairing, but you can have your opinion.
In my opinion, a Carly/Jason romantic pairing was just not in the cards. For some reason writers have been pushing it for years, but enough viewers just didn’t have the same opinion even though it has been tried several times but nixed each time. Writers spent many years developing the two to be BFF and then turned around and wanted them as a romantic couple can’t have your cake and eat it too. I really don’t feel Carly has a true romantic interest in Jason, but just doesn’t want him to become involved with anyone that would allow his affections for her to be compromised. Jason does not have the type persona to deal with Carly as a romantic interest. The two would be at each others throats more than they would have a happy pairing.
