General Hospital spoilers and updates tease a very important question-with Willow Tait Cain’s (Katelyn MacMullen) trial starting, why are Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) there?

More importantly, why are they seen in the weekly promo sitting on Willow and Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) side-is Drew pulling a blackmail ploy?

Courtrooms Are Set Up With Two Different Seating Areas-One To The Judge’s Left, The Other To The Right

Courtrooms are set up with two different seating areas, one to the judge’s left, and the other to the judge’s right, with the prosecution on one side and the defendant on the other.

The prosecutor is always going to be the district attorney or someone from the district attorney’s office, in this case Acting District Attorney Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor).

The defendant, in other words, the accused, and their lawyer is always going to be on the other side of the courtroom, and everyone involved with the defendant behind them.

So why are Curtis, who’s been ruled out as a suspect, there on Willow’s side, and why is Trina there if Curtis isn’t in trouble? Is Drew pulling a blackmail plot to get them to give false testimony and Willow an alibi?

There’s Plenty Of Room On The Prosecutor’s Side For Curtis And Trina To Sit, And Kai Taylor As Well

It would be understandable for Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) perhaps, to be sitting on the defendant’s side of the courtroom-he still works for Drew, although he’d likely rather not.

It would be just as understandable for Trina to be there if she was with Kai, but he isn’t seen in the shot-she’s sitting close to Curtis! Even though Curtis was ruled out as a suspect when the traffic cam footage showing Willow driving near Drew’s house crying in the rain came in, there he is!

But then, there was that little conversation between Drew and Curtis when Curtis was being held in jail-the one about helping each other? Perhaps Drew is taking that favor and calling it in-and what about Trina, have she and Kai been compelled to testify they were in the vicinity?

Willow’s Alibi Crumbled, And The Prosecutor Knows About Selina Wu And Curtis

Willow’s alibi crumbled, and the prosecutor knows about Selina Wu (Lydia Look) and Curtis-even though Curtis was released, there are still some unanswered questions.

Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) had been intending to look into the matter more thoroughly before Willow’s alibi crumbled thanks to the traffic cam. And then there was the matter of Kai’s fingerprints possibly being on the baseball bat in Drew’s house that was left behind.

Perhaps Drew did see Trina and Kai, or at least saw their car, when he came home but didn’t think that much about it, especially if it was Kai’s.

Has he now used a blackmail ploy to incentivize both Curtis and Trina to make sure the trial swings the way he wants?
