Ryan Wrapped Up His Latest Gig On The ABC Soap On July 6
In the episode of General Hospital that aired on July 6, Ryan Paevey wrapped up his much-anticipated return to the show.
During this episode, it was unveiled that Cassius Faison was not actually dead, but rather being held captive by the WSB, all thanks to Z (John Oliver).
Z presented Cassius with a difficult choice: he could either accept a one-way ticket to prison, face a death sentence, or take on the role of an agent himself!
While the show did not provide a definitive answer to Cassius’s fate, it is clear that he is still out there, and we can reasonably speculate that he is now working for the WSB.
No one is aware that Z decided to save Cassius, and give him a choice between prison and working for him-obviously, we can assume he chose the latter!
Fans Were Thrilled To See Paevey On The ABC Soap After Over Seven Years
Fans of GH were ecstatic to see Paevey back in action on the ABC daytime drama, where he originally portrayed the beloved Detective Nathan West from 2013 to 2018.
After a hiatus of over seven years, Ryan made his grand return to his former soap opera home in September 2025, arriving in Port Charles as a very much alive Nathan.
Intriguingly he, was actually Cassius masquerading as his deceased twin brother. Cassius was proven to be more of a mixed character, similar to Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) rather than pure evil like his father Cesar Faison (Anders Hove).
Paevey Attended The GH Fan Club Weekend And Answered Fans’ Questions
This past weekend, Paevey attended the annual GH Fan Club Weekend held in Burbank, California.
According to a report from Soap Central, who was present at the event, a fan inquired whether Ryan would consider making another appearance on the soap opera in the future.
Ryan shared, “I consider myself somewhat of a drifter-therefore, I’m uncertain about the idea of returning to sign on permanently. Doing so removed many important aspects from my life, things that I truly value.”
Paevey Also Talked About His Time Away From GH And Acting
He also elaborated that during his time away from General Hospital, he took on the role of caretaker for his parents while simultaneously developing his Fortunate Wanderer jewelry business and pursuing other interests.
Nevertheless, Paevey wrapped up his reflections by stating, “But, yes, I would definitely return to stir things up if Cassius could serve as a compelling agent of chaos- a discussion might be necessary with Frank regarding the true meaning of ‘not dead.'”
