General Hospital Spoilers suggest Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) is dead — and his wife, Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West), killed him. But is it true? Nikolas has “died” before, and it suited him quite well at the time. He hid under the cover of his faux death for four years before returning to Port Charles to claim what was rightfully his out from under Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) nose.
This time around, Nikolas has other reasons for wanting to escape his life in Port Chuck. He’s committed a slew of crimes that could land him behind bars; his son is trying to take his unborn child from him; and his wife has taken everything from him. Is there really a reason for him to stick around even if Ava’s clobbering didn’t do him in?
General Hospital Spoilers — Ava Clocked Nik Hard
Ava definitely used all the force in her to knock Nikolas to his feet. She takes it very seriously when someone threatens her child, and she wasn’t about to let him get anywhere near Avery Corinthos (Grace Scarola). However, just because Nikolas was unconscious when she dumped his body in the stables outside Wyndemere doesn’t mean he was dead.
Ava isn’t going to realize the mistake she’s made for some time, and that’s going to give Nik potential time to get out of dodge and plan his attack for whenever he is ready to come back to Port Charles. This is his M.O., after all.
GH Spoilers Hint Austin Said He Was Dead
Austin might be interested in Ava and want Nikolas out of the way, but it’s far more likely something more sinister is happening here. When he told Ava that Nikolas was dead, he was lying — plain and simple. Why, though? Is there a reason Nikolas is a better asset to Austin alive than dead?
Is there a reason he would rather have Ava believe Nik is dead than unburden her of guilt and relieve her of the anxiety of being found out? Is helping her to cover her tracks just a way to win her trust? Why does he want to trap Ava in these circumstances and help Nik out of them?
General Hospital Spoilers — It Makes Sense That Nik Would Skip Town
It actually makes perfect sense that GH production wouldn’t kill off Nikolas. Rather, he’s just going to skip town. How long until we find out the truth and Ava’s head rolls when she sees him alive and in the flesh? That’s impossible to say. Last time Nikolas “died,” he didn’t turn up for four years.
Still, with Marcus Coloma being exiled from GH, and Adam Huss being an adequate but not beloved fan-favorite filling in for him, there could be a big reason GH is choosing to put the character of Nikolas on hiatus right now — and that reason might be Tyler Christopher. Tyler is the O.G. Nikolas as far as most diehard GH fans are concerned. If they’re putting Nik on the backburner until Tyler is ready to jump back on board, well, we’re here for it. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.

I'm not buying into any Tyler Christofer return. If ABC wanted him, he would be the one in the storyline now instead of Adan Huss. Tyler said he would be willing to sub for Marcus and ABC didn't bite. Tyler is a Primadonna! He quit several times before, because he didn't get the salary he wanted. Then the last time ABC fired him. He has burned too many bridges. Marcus made the character his own and hade grate chemistry with Maura west!
