Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) stopped by while Michael was there and was practically flirting with Willow as he handed over a bouquet in the April 28 episode.
Willow gushed over Chase remembering her favorite type of flower as Michael was on his way out, so he eventually met up with Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) and discussed his “enlightening” visit with Willow.
Since Michael has been worried about Willow using her power and influence against him when it comes to the kids, he suggested he just figured out a way to level the playing field.
Michael said the key to neutralizing Willow has been staring him in the face this entire time, so he was obviously talking about Chase.
The Question Is: How Exactly Will Chase Fit Into Michael’s Plan?
Congresswoman Cain and Officer Chase are both married to other people, so it’s not a great look for him to be bringing her flowers at work. If Michael plays this just right, he can perhaps threaten Willow with a scandal.
Part of Michael may wonder if a real affair is already going on or on the verge of happening. Chase and Willow haven’t crossed that line yet, but Michael might think they could go there given the right setup.
However, Willow and Chase don’t actually need to be having an affair for it to seem like they’re having one. Michael could still get a PI to score some scandalous-looking photos of things like flower deliveries and warm embraces between the exes.
Michael might even cook up other affair-related evidence as well – like a fake paper trail of romantic dinners and hotel suites. From there, Michael could threaten to leak the affair “proof” and turn this into a scandalous story that could ruin Willow’s reputation.
Willow wants to play the part of the doting wife who’s caring for hubby Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) following his “stroke” and doing great things in his Congress seat. That image would be shattered if it looked like Willow was cheating with her former flame.
Of course, it could also look like Chase covered up evidence and helped Willow get away with shooting Drew. Michael might warn Willow that once you get the public fixated on an idea, it’s tough to make it go away.
Michael might also point out that if this blows up, it’ll hurt Chase, too. This could destroy Chase’s marriage and the family he wants to build with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), so Michael may have plenty of ways to blackmail Willow with this situation.
