General Hospital spoilers tease that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) made a shocking decision when he arrived at the Quartermaine boat house mere seconds after Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) murdered FBI Agent John Cates (Adam Harrington).
Instead of turning his father in, Michael made the decision to help Sonny cover up his involvement. He sent Sonny away to find Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) so she could give Sonny an alibi. Then Michael began the cover up.
General Hospital Spoilers – Michael Corinthos is lying!
Michael then cleaned up the crime scene by removing all the shell casings from the gun Sonny used. He waited a little longer, then he called the authorities to report the crime.
When speaking with the cops, of course Michael left out any mention of Sonny. Because of that, and Carly’s alibi, Sonny wasn’t considered the prime suspect.
The cops then turned their attention to Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). In fact, she’s been charged with the crime and is awaiting trial.
GH Spoilers – Suspicion turns to Kristina Davis-Corinthos
But the cops would have a much better case against Kristina if they had all the facts. Kristina stole a gun from Sonny’s penthouse, and actually drove to the Quartermaine’s with the intention of killing Cates.
She didn’t get out of her car, but the vehicle could be placed at the scene of the crime. Later, Alexis found the gun and disposed of it into the murky river under the foot bridge.
If the cops realize that Alexis is trying to protect Kristina, they might take a closer look at her. She could even be arrested if the cops believe she’s killer, not Alexis.
General Hospital Spoilers – Michael Corinthos betrays Sonny Corinthos
If Kristina is arrested, Michael won’t let his sister go to prison. Even though he would be incriminating both himself and Carly, he might decide he has no choice but to throw Sonny under the bus.
If Michael tells the truth about what really happened the night Cates was killed, it wouldn’t be the first time Michael betrayed Sonny. But he wouldn’t be doing it out of malice this time, it would simply be the only way to get Kristina off the hook. Sonny might even understand if it meant Kristina didn’t have to suffer.
