General Hospital Spoilers: Michael and Dex Betray Sonny All Over Again

General Hospital spoilers reveal Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) knew what they were getting into when Michael first hired him to take down Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

In the end, Sonny was supposed to be behind bars without any knowledge that it was ever Dex who took him down. Likewise, Dex was supposed to leave town for good and live his life far away from Port Charles.

Obviously, things have changed, but one thing has remained consistent: Michael and Dex have taken considerable risks by operating behind Sonny’s back.

Even when Michael revamped his plans and opted to protect his father instead of taking him down, they knew Sonny would be just as furious if he ever found out.

Despite knowing he has blown his relationship with his father to smithereens, Michael is willing to continue going out on that ledge to keep his dad safe.

But will Sonny be any more forgiving of Michael and Dex’s operation to protect him when he finds out how necessary it was?

General Hospital Spoilers — Sonny is in Serious Danger

Sonny loves to pretend things aren’t as serious as they are, but he’s not been in this much danger in quite some time — and he’s never been in this much danger without Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) by his side.

It’s going to look a lot different this time around if Jason ends up being the guy who puts the gun to Sonny’s head.

Michael’s plea for Dex to come back to town had little to do with the Metro Court Pool shooting or even the shootout in Puerto Rico — and everything to do with Sonny’s behavior. Seeing how Sonny tried to bait an FBI agent into hitting him was all the warning Michael needed to know his dad is no longer in control.

GH Spoilers Leak He’s Also Ill-Equipped

Sonny is far less equipped for what lies ahead than the front he puts on. Michael is right that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) ultimately won’t be able to side with his father if it’s Sonny versus law enforcement.

Dante won’t compromise himself that way and his dad wouldn’t want him to. But Michael isn’t bound by such rules. Knowing his dad has few people on his side to see him through whatever is coming down the pike means Michael had to act fast.

Having even fewer options to pull from than Sonny himself, Michael calling on Dex might be the thing that saves Sonny’s life, but it may also kill his relationship with his father.

General Hospital Spoilers — Desperate for Dex

With Jason coming back into the fold, Sonny is going to be up against a wall. How can he possibly combat an assailant who was, at one time, his strongest and most strategic enforcer?

There is nothing about Sonny’s business that Jason doesn’t know. Further, Jason knows how Sonny’s mind works better than anyone.

He knows which moves Sonny will make when he’s under pressure, and that means Jason gets to stay a step ahead. Any chance Sonny has at defeating the threat against him will mean he needs to utilize the closest thing he has to Jason — and that’s Dex.

Will his desperation give way to trust he didn’t know he still had in Dex? Can the upcoming takedown against Sonny position Dex to earn his respect and come back into the business? Or will Michael have to deploy Dex to protect Sonny without his father’s knowledge — again?

Is there any coming back from that emasculating betrayal — even if it saves the don’s life? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
