General Hospital spoilers and updates tease Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storm) will open up to her mother, Felicia Jones (Kristina Wagner) after hearing Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) was killed.
Maxie and Austin dated for a while, and he delivered her baby Bailey Louise Jones (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt) while she was on the run from Peter August (Wes Ramsey).
General Hospital Spoilers: It Just Never Worked Out
Austin and Maxie dated until right after Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Jones) showed up in Port Charles, and shortly before the Hook murders started. They got along fine, but they couldn’t make it work because her oldest daughter Georgie Jones (Lily Fisher) wanted her and her dad together.
Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) eventually did move back to Port Charles, but he and Maxie seem a thing of the past, and Maxie hasn’t dated since she and Austin quit trying.
The two would see each other around once in a while, when Maxie might have cause to be at GH, but hi and bye is about all that ever happened.
Still, when the news spreads that he was shot dead in his house by an unknown assailant, she’s affected and regrets things never worked out.
GH Spoilers: Maxie Jones Thinks Austin Gatlin-Holt Would Have Made A Good Father
Of course, Maxie knows nothing about Austin’s secret life that he led once Mason showed up in town-he’d moved to Port Charles to get away from “the family” and the “business”.
But he seemed to really love kids and tried to make friends with Georgie-but Georgie wanted her dad and mom together since he and Ellie Trout (Emily Wilson) broke up.
She learns of his death from her mother, who now works at GH, when Austin hadn’t shown up at work for several days the police were called.
Maxie can’t understand who would ever want to kill Austin, especially now that his cousin was arrested so it couldn’t have been him-she admits Mason was a creeper!
General Hospital Spoilers: Who Will Call His Mother?
Maxie wonders who will call Austin’s mother in Pautauk, surely Charity Gatlin-Holt (Gloria Carlin) should be notified! But how do you tell a mother that her youngest son has been murdered, and wonders if she knows her nephew Mason’s in jail?
Felicia thinks that Charity has probably already been told, since the search for the missing Austin did extend to Pautauk, and as for Mason, he’s probably a black sheep.
Maxie has a big heart when she lets herself, even though that big heart has been broken a time or two. It’s too bad that she and Austin didn’t work out, and that his no-good cousin didn’t stay where he belonged in Pautauk.
