General Hospital spoilers reveal Lulu Falconeri (Alexa Havins) is allegedly supposed to wake up from the three-year-long coma she’s been in pretty soon. If she does, we have to wonder what life is going to look like for her.
Certainly, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) won’t be unhappy with this revelation, but if it comes on the heels of him losing Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) — and if Sam’s death is what ultimately gave life to Lulu — then he may have a hard time embracing this happy occasion the way he would have if Sam were alive.
Without Dante being able to truly be in her corner, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) could step into the role of Lulu’s biggest supporter out of respect for his grieving buddy. But might that lead to more than just friendship between Cody and Lulu?
General Hospital Spoilers — Lulu’s Life is Restored as Sam’s Fades to Black
As Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Elizabeth Baldwin) so realistically pointed out this week, this liver transplant is merely going to extend Lulu’s life on life support. It’s not reviving her from the coma she’s been in for the last three years.
At least, no one is expecting it to. But stranger things have happened, and we are looking forward to the look on Laura Collins (Genie Francis) face when she realizes the miracle she has been delivered as her daughter comes to — alive and coherent. But that won’t make up for the loss of Sam’s life in the mix for Laura or anyone else involved.
GH Spoilers Hint Cody Saddles Up
It’s going to be a tough road of recovery ahead for Lulu, and she’ll have to make peace with the time that has been stolen from her while everyone else rejoices that they got her back at all.
At the same time, she was in love with her ex-husband, Dante, when she drifted off three years ago and didn’t come to again.
As Dante grieves losing Sam, he may feel a flood of emotions directed at Lulu that she’s not really responsible for — including resenting her for needing Sam’s liver, knowing that Sam would still be here had she not gone under that knife.
When Dante isn’t able to be the source of comfort and friendship that Lulu needs, Cody may think he’s doing the noble thing by stepping up to the plate and filling in to reassure her that Dante will soon come around. But what will transpire between Cody and Lulu in the meantime?
General Hospital Spoilers — Dante Won’t Like This One Bit
Dante is already feeling rather conflicted about his emotions. He’s spent the last month or better standing vigil at Lulu’s bedside hoping she would come to and praying they would find a liver donor in time to save her life.
He has the convenient excuse of claiming his concern is that she is Rocco Falconeri’s (Finn Francis Carr) mother, but we know how important Lulu is to Dante, too. We know he just couldn’t let go of their home together, and that he was ready to rejoin his life with hers when she was injured and left in a coma.
So the thought of her possibly dying and him never getting the chance for that reboot has been lingering in his mind, even though her waking up right now wouldn’t make it any easier to pursue a relationship when he’s already in one with someone else.
Sam’s death is likely to cast a shadow over Dante’s feelings for Lulu, and he’ll be left in purgatory wondering how to proceed.
So when his best friend moves in on Lulu instead, he may not take kindly to it. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this plays out.
