General Hospital Spoilers say Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) was stern with Ava Jerome (Maura West). She didn’t mince words when she told her she would testify on her behalf in a custody case against Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), but she also warned Ava not to make her regret this.
Despite Ava’s insistence that she wouldn’t, it took a mere 24 hours for her to break that promise. Going down in flames, Ava leaked the recording of Natalia Ramirez (Eva LaRue) outing Kristina Corinthos Davis (Kate Mansi) and Alison ‘Blaze’ Rogers (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) to the world and showcasing her utter disgust for any gay person’s lifestyle.
Now, she just might lose the strongest supporter she had in her arsenal, but that doesn’t mean Sonny will gain Laura’s sympathy.
General Hospital Spoilers — Ava Backpedals
Ava wasn’t thinking about Laura’s warning when she called The Invader and asked Adrian DeWitt (Dieterich Grey) to rush over to her hotel room for some juicy gossip.
She wanted that recording out there loud and proud to let the world know the woman cozying up to Sonny is a bigot. But that was just gravy.
What she was really after was a strike back at Kristina for tattling on her to Sonny. She won’t be able to explain away her revenge game to Laura, who will certainly find it trivial and inexcusable that Ava would take such a risk when she’s on the verge of losing custody of her daughter.

Meanwhile, Sonny might get wind of Laura deciding she doesn’t want to support Ava during this custody battle after all. That may lead him to suspect he would woo Laura into supporting him, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Laura meant what she said when she told Ava the only reason she would support her is because she believed Avery was better off with Ava than with Sonny — if those are the only two options. Ouch! Ava losing her loyalty doesn’t mean Sonny picks it back up again. He lost it on his own merits a while ago.
General Hospital Spoilers — Laura Can’t Withstand Another PR Crisis
Laura is still juggling the reality of being the mayor who is pushing for a new trial for nefarious serial killer Heather Webber (Alley Mills). If she wants any shot at re-election, she can’t keep dying on proverbial swords and associating herself with less-than-savory people.
Recently, she went as far as to somewhat cut ties with her allegiance to Sonny, letting Police Commissioner Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) know it was cool with the mayor if Anna ever decided to go after Sonny and build a case against him.
She can’t continue to befriend and align with people who break the law and seek out ways to harm others she cares about — like the way Ava also did Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) dirty.
Will she drop both of them and advocate for Avery going to someone else entirely — like, say, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright)? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
