General Hospital Spoilers: Jason & Sonny Hit A Crossroads – The End of the Henchman & Mob Boss?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) are not exactly on the same page lately, after the penthouse explosion that landed Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) in critical condition.

During the Thursday, January 9 show, Sonny talked about retaliation and revenge, while Jason talked about an exit strategy.

Now that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) is gone, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonzyzn) only has Jason, and he has truly stepped up to the plate to be there for his son. It’s becoming clearer and clearer that Jason wants out of the mob, and into a quieter life to ensure he’s always there for his son.

Jason also made a comment to Sonny that he doesn’t know what he would do if it was Danny’s in Micheal’s place, but GH fans know all too well that Jason and Michael have more of a father-son bond than an uncle-nephew one.

When Jason looked at Michael in his hospital room, he flashed back to a time when everyone thought he was Michael’s father, and viewers got a decades-old clip of Jason holding a newborn Michael, promising he’d always protect him.

GH viewers can also tell, based on Jason’s facial expressions, just how horrified he is that this has happened to Michael. He also feels as if he’s to blame as he failed to keep Michael safe.

While Sonny has revenge on the brain, it looks like Jason has had enough. But, as fans know, it’s very easy to step into the world of organized crime, yet so hard to step out of it.

As both Sonny and Jason are intertwined, so closely, it looks as if they both need to adhere to an exit strategy – it can’t be a situation where one goes and the other stays. Then again, Jason’s need to constantly “protect” and help his best friend may be another reason why he’s insisting they both exit.

Everyone handles emergencies differently; however, Sonny seemed so aloof during Thursday’s show. Almost more concerned about Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) than what Michael was going through.

Is Sonny in denial? It’s certainly not his fault that this happened to Michael, but his life choices have caused a lot of hurt, pain, and death to loved ones around him.

So, as Sonny gears up for revenge and retaliation, he may be met with resistance from Jason. Sonny does not like hearing the word no, so could this cause conflict between Jason and Sonny? Could they have a major blowout that not only affects their business relationship, but their years of friendship, too?
