Things have gotten very real for Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). Their lifestyles couldn’t possibly be more different.
She owns a few businesses, has kids, and is very rooted in her Port Charles family. Meanwhile, Jack is a spy who lies for a living and prefers a no-strings fling to anything that involves real emotions, and yet here we are.
General Hospital Spoilers: Carly Is Trying To Resist Her Attraction To Jack
Literally, half of Port Charles has warned Carly to stay away from Brennan because he is dangerous and can only hurt her in the long run.
She has a habit of running towards a man that is a project, rather than running in the other direction, but she has been playing it safe. She has made it clear that she won’t just be a fling and that they need to take things slow, and he has played by her rules.
Carly knows that Jack is probably bad for her, but she is having a hard time cutting him loose.
General Hospital Spoilers: Jack Has Worn His Heart On His Sleeve
Jack is used to controlling the games that he plays with women. He calls the shots, and once a woman gets even a tiny bit attached, that is his cue to leave.
He has admitted that all of this comes easily to him, but she unnerves him. He doesn’t know how to act around her and he believes that whatever is between them is real.
Even after telling Carly that he is interested in commitment, she still pulled the plug on them, at least momentarily. He left Bobbie’s after their conversation looking like someone that wasn’t really going away, and Carly fought the obvious urge to call him back to the table she was sitting at.

Jack may have left the restaurant, but he isn’t going away. Of equal importance is the fact that Carly doesn’t really want him to.
Jack needs to work for her trust and attention, and he knows it. She has a different kind of hold on him, and this may be the WSB agent’s first real chance at love, but will he take it?
