It’s a farewell celebration for Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) at the Savoy, but it’s Portia who steals the spotlight with a rather huge announcement.
While the gathering is meant to honor Marshall’s exciting opportunity to tour with renowned jazz artist Wynton Marsalis, Portia has something else on her mind.
Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) appears slightly annoyed as she raises her voice, declaring, “Everyone, please pay attention—we have an update regarding Heather Webber” (Alley Mills).
In the center of the room, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) stands as Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) make their way over.
