General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the ABC sudser appears to be setting up Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) to have to choose between grandparents, ones he doesn’t yet know are his family.
It’s a lot for one person to unpack, and Gio, who knows he was adopted but not the details, will have a lot of processing to do once he discovers his heritage. Here’s what to know!
Gio’s Dilemma
Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) is Gio’s great grandma and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is his grandfather.
Tracy hates Sonny and is hellbent on ruining him once and for all. She is not shy about her mission and has resorted to a deal with the devil, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), to succeed.
This week Gio found out how dirty Sonny is thanks to Tracy and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Jason and Tracy have different versions of why Sonny is a killer, and now Gio must decide who he believes and who he pledges allegiance to.
Who Will Gio Choose?
Sonny has been financially supporting Gio since birth and the violinist has grown close to Tracy as he lives at the Q’s. She’s made it clear that Sonny is venom and persona-non-grata and thus far Gio has simply been caught up in a war of words.
When Gio discovers that his bio parents are Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) he will feel betrayed. Plus he will also learn that he is a Quartermaine and a Corinthos and this could come back to haunt him.
Can Gio Survive the Q Vendetta?
How do you think Gio will respond to the staggering bombshell regarding his paternity? Do you think he will lash out and burn his violin? Could he do a Jason and denounce the Q’s and become Sonny’s #2?
It’s not out of the realm of possibility that Gio takes over for Sonny—both he and Jason want out of the mob biz and someone has to take over.

I don't think that Gio should take over Sonny's business. He has no idea what he's getting himself into. Dante and Lulu should spend more time with Rocko, then he wouldn't haven't gone to that college beach party. Same for Jason. They want to be apart of there kids lives, but they aren't. Where is Charlotte? Haven't seen anything of her lately. Sam would be livid if she knew what was going on with Danny and Rocko. and Jason and Dante aren't taking care of they boys any better than they are.
No gonna happen for many reasons. A. Sonny will never agree to it B. He’s an artist not a thug. C. The whole Quartermaine family will make sure it doesn’t happen D. What organization will take him seriously.
I can understand Gio going nuts over this but eventually I hope he realizes both Brooklyn and Sonny were pawns in this.
Sorry Gio for all the pain you’re going to go through.
