General Hospital Spoilers: Fans are Speculating…Are Gio and Dex Long-Lost Brothers?

General Hospital Spoilers hint Giovanni ‘Gio’ Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) may be bringing a whole lot more than a romance for Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) to Port Charles.

His interest in moving there was spurred by receiving a full ride to Port Charles University, accompanied by being named first chair playing the violin.

How could he turn down that offer? At the same time, we have to wonder what skeletons might appear from the closets around him now that he’s in Port Chuck.

From the first we were introduced to Gio, we heard about his orphan status. His mother died when he was ten, which came as a crushing blow since his dad died serving in the military before he was ever born.

Alas, a story is born. Gio never knew his father, and so far we don’t even have details like a name or where he was from, nor how his mother met his father.

However, the interaction between Gio and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) has left many fans wondering whether they’re going to end up linked in some way.

General Hospital Spoilers — Ties That Bind

Gio was honored to play the violin at Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) wedding.

The guy couldn’t be more humble about his skills, and it has many wondering whether the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and he might be Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) long-lost son he never knew about.

Gio’s interest in Dex collides well with this theory because the fans have wondered ever since Dex first came to town whether he might end up being Jason’s son. Dex was adopted, after all. But the jury is still out on that.

GH Spoilers Leak It’s Not Jason — It’s “Uncle” Sonny!

Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) and Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) have come a long way over the years in mending fences with Sonny after the truth came out that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was his son.

While many are convinced Jason is somehow going to end up being Gio’s dad — and possibly Dex’s, too — others are insisting it’s Sonny who is going to find out he has another child.

Gio already thinks the world of Sonny for helping him all these years in such substantial ways, and we imagine that support isn’t going to end now that he’s close by in Port Chuck.

But would his opinion of the mob boss change if he knew what he was really all about — or worse, if he learns Sonny actually knows Gio is his son?

General Hospital Spoilers — Both Things Can Be True

At this point, we’ve learned not to question the number of women Sonny has been involved with over the years. For the last couple since Dex came on the scene, we’ve theorized that his biological mother could have been Lily Corinthos (Lilly Melgar), who allegedly died in a car explosion when she was newly pregnant with the don’s child.

What if she escaped or was captured only to later give birth and give her child up for adoption — willingly or otherwise? Her father, Hernando Rivera (Ismael ‘East’ Carlo) hated Sonny and might have taken extreme measures to ensure he never knew about his child.

Could that child have been Dex? Could Sonny have had an affair with Gio’s mother and produced him while the man she was committed to was being shipped off to war?

Both things can indeed be true. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see if they both are.
