Dominance Achieved In The Hulu Ratings, And That Is Very Good News For Fans!
On Hulu, the ABC soap has been leading the ratings, which is a positive sign for soap operas-or for any television program, for that matter! In today’s world, it has become challenging for any TV show to stay on the air for an extended period, let alone as long as GH.
How many times have viewers found themselves engrossed in a new series only to see it canceled after just a handful of episodes, and not even having a conclusion?
Therefore, it’s astonishing to consider that General Hospital has been broadcasting for 62 years and still going strong, and recently, it has gotten stronger. With only four other soap operas currently airing, ratings are essential for the survival of this genre, especially since three of them have been on the air for many decades.
Back At The Top Spot In Ratings!
The ABC daytime drama asserted its supremacy by soaring to the top position on Hulu, as reported by Soap Opera Network. In the week spanning June 2-6, the soap climbed from the 12th position to number one by June 3, surpassing ABC 2020 and the new season of The Handmaid’s Tale.
Among the other shows it outperformed in Hulu’s Top 15 were Family Guy, Adults, Nine Perfect Strangers, and Bob’s Burgers, to name just a few. It held onto the number one spot until Wednesday, June 4-on June 5, it was briefly pushed to second place.
Nevertheless, it reclaimed the top position by Friday, June 6, where it stayed throughout the weekend.
Many Reasons For It’s Recent Rise
There are numerous factors contributing to GH’s rise to the top, particularly the significant revelation regarding Gio Palmieri’s (Giovanni Mazza) parentage.
The young man discovered that his parents were not who he had always believed them to be, but rather Brook Lynn Quartermaine Chase (Amanda Setton) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). Additionally, the show’s success can likely be attributed to the dark path that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) is embarking on.
That, along with the shocking revelation that Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) is the father of Sasha Corbin’s (Sofia Mattsson) baby-this baby was unexpectedly born in the courtroom.
Regardless of the reasons, this is fantastic news for soap opera fans as their beloved shows continue to prove their worth to the networks that broadcast them.
