Liesl Obrecht’s Son, Raised With Nina Reeves
Nathan’s real name is James Nathan Reeves, taking the last name “West” from Westbourne, apparently the maiden name of Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills).
Nathan was raised by Madeline as Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) younger brother, due to Liesl’s efforts to protect him from his real father, Cesar Faison (Anders Hove).
In doing so, Liesl also deceived Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) claiming Nathan was his, and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) didn’t know about him!
Nathan was married twice-from 2006-2016 to Claudette Beaulieu (Bree Williamson) and to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) from 2017-2018, ended by his death.
More recent storylines put questions on his actual death, although viewers saw him buried with full police honors-he was killed by Faison.
Pursuing Silas Clay And Ava Jerome
Nathan first came to town pursuing Silas Clay (Michael Easton) and Ava Jerome (Maura West) but Nina wasn’t in the picture yet, although she would arrive later.
Nathan wanted answers and demanded justice for Nina, whose husband Silas had cheated on her with Ava; citing Ava’s connection to the Jerome Crime family, he applied at the PCPD. Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) hired him and he became Dante’s partner.
Nathan suspected that Silas had drugged Nina with an anti-depressant, leading to her long coma, because of his affair with Ava.
Eventually he met Britt and nearly hooked up with her not knowing she was his sister, interrupted by Maxie-it was then Madeline told him about Britt being his real sister!
Nathan And Maxie Eventually Get Married After The Rescue From Levi Dunkelman
Nathan and Maxie eventually get married, with him trying to help her get custody of Georgie Spinelli (now Lily Fisher) after rescuing her from a man named Levi Dunkelman (Zachary Garred).
He turned out to be Peter Harrell, Jr., the son of a man who had been after Felicia Scorpio’s (Kristina Wagner) Aztec jewels, thinking he could get them through marrying Maxie.
He was killed by Maxie in defense of Nathan in a convoluted confrontation where Peter Harrell, Sr. (David Gautreaux) was killed by his son. Peter Jr. then lunged at Nathan in an attempt to kill him, Maxie grabbing a dagger made from the Aztec jewels and stabbing Jr. in the back.
Maxie And Nathan Were Married One Year, Then He Was Killed By His Father
Maxie and Nathan were married one year, then he was killed by his father Faison who had kidnapped Maxie. The PCPD and WSB were looking for Faison, and Lulu Spencer (now Alexa Havins) and her new boss Peter August (Wes Ramsey), planned to use Nathan to draw Faison out.
They interviewed him, and the results were published, which alerted Faison and distressed Maxie; later Peter would be revealed as Nathan’s half-brother.
Maxie was concerned for their safety and preferred to go into hiding instead. Faison shot Nathan in the chest, then, Peter arrived with a gun, and Faison managed to flee.
