General Hospital Spoilers: Eva LaRue Reveals Playing Natalia Challenges & Her Real-Life Nightmare
General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal Eva LaRue’s (Natalia Ramirez) role in CSI: Miami was meant to be a moment of joy and a significant achievement in her Hollywood journey.
However, it turned into the beginning of a 12-year nightmare with a stalker who harassed her using the Nightmare on Elm Street character name, “Freddie Krueger.”
Eva Didn’t Know Who Her Stalker Was, But Now She Tells Her Story
From 2007 to 2019, LaRue was unaware of who her stalker was. Now, the former star of General Hospital and All My Children is reclaiming her strength by revealing her story in the two-part Paramount+ docuseries, My Nightmare Stalker: The Eva LaRue Story.
This real-life ordeal not only made her anxious about her safety but also affected her mental and physical well-being.
“I developed a rash-my eyelashes were falling out,” she shared in an interview with Soaps.com. “I was a mess;” but she managed to turn what could have been tragedy into a triumph.
LaRue Talks About A Significant Moment
She mentions a significant moment in her journey when a friend invited her to Italy for the summer; LaRue brought her daughter, Kaya, during the break from CSI: Miami to relax and rejuvenate.
However, on the second night, their home was broken into around 3 a.m., and the intruder entered the bedroom where she and her child were sleeping. Although the break-in was later revealed to be an “inside job,” LaRue was terrified at the thought that her stalker might have followed her to Europe.
Rather than allowing fear to dominate her life, that incident became a moment of realization for her. She turned to her faith for guidance- she became “fearless” instead of “fearful.”
LaRue Didn’t Like Natalia Either, And Says She Was Hard To Play
“It was a real revelation for me to reclaim my life; this doesn’t mean the fear disappeared,” she shares. “It definitely didn’t; the paranoia remained-the fear was still there, but the overwhelming control was lifted.” That bravery translated into her acting career, where she took on the difficult role of the detestable Natalia Rogers-Ramirez on General Hospital.
“She’s terrible,” LaRue confesses; “I had no idea how nasty she would become when I accepted the role. It was tough to portray, especially after playing Maria Santos on All My Children, and the audience at General Hospital really hated me.
Natalia Was Written Out In Early July
LaRue continued, “So, it’s challenging to perform and it’s tough to handle; I didn’t realize how bad she would turn out to be.” The homophobic villain left the Port Charles scene for good in early July, but LaRue realizes there was no chance for Natalia to redeem herself. “They attempted to rehabilitate her-they really did, but I believe it wasn’t sufficient, quick enough, or thorough enough for her,” she explains.
She acknowledges that they had no option but to remove her from the soap; LaRue adds, “Eventually, they decided, ‘Yeah, this isn’t working.’ I thought, ‘Yeah, it really isn’t. “My Nightmare Stalker: The Eva LaRue Story will debut on Thursday, Nov. 13, on Paramount+
