General Hospital spoilers reveal Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) is coming clean to her ex-beau, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton), and it’s not clear how he’s going to take the news that she blew up their relationship for no reason at all. Okay, maybe not no reason, but it wasn’t the reason she gave him.
When Elizabeth implied that she had cheated on Finn, she was trying to cover her own behind, and Nikolas Cassadine’s (Adam Huss)! Furthermore, she already felt such a painful distance between herself and Finn and she just didn’t want to deal with it at the time. Now, she’s facing the music and feeling a boatload of regret.
General Hospital Spoilers — Elizabeth Struggled to Reconcile Her Guilt
Elizabeth is on a warpath. She’s just decimated her friendship with Nikolas, and while that makes her sad, she knows it was the right thing to do. The moment she saw Finn — who immediately came to her defense as she argued with Nik — she knew she had to be honest with him, too.
Telling him that she never cheated on him and was never pregnant with Nikolas’ baby was one of the hardest things she’s ever done, but it was also the biggest relief. Is she expecting his forgiveness or another shot at their relationship? She shouldn’t be.
GH Spoilers Hint The Damage is Done
Just because Elizabeth didn’t cheat on Finn doesn’t mean she didn’t break his heart in the process with her lies. She ruined their relationship. She broke Violet Finn’s (Jophielle Love) heart at the same time. She broke up a family that was blending all for the sake of saving her alleged friend, Nikolas, who has treated her as anything but that.
Their relationship was on shaky ground when Elizabeth decided to spring into action and forsake her love for Finn to embrace the distraction Nik was handing her. There may be too many layers of pain and grief to work through here.
General Hospital Spoilers — Finn Already Forgave Her
Lucky for Liz, Finn is completely head over heels for her. It’s going to take him some time — and some serious venting to Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Gregory Harrison (Gregory Chase) — to come to terms with what she’s done and how they can move past it, but Finn is too in love with Elizabeth to walk away from what they had over this lie.
That being said, they have a lot more to work through than just tall tales from Wyndemere. When they split, they weren’t dealing with the real issues at the forefront of their relationship — like the revelation that Elizabeth contributed to the death of Finn’s late wife, Reiko Finn (Mele Ihara).
