General Hospital Spoilers: Drew Will Come Home with a Ring in Hand, But Carly’s Heart is with Someone Else

General Hospital spoilers tease Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) is coming back to Port Charles — and to Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), but he just might feel like he’s returned to someone else when he gets there. Drew has big plans on the horizon for his relationship with Carly and he’s feeling pretty confident that she’s going to share in his enthusiasm.

That is, until he sees how much has changed in his absence. Right now, he’s doing his best to help Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) track down Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy), who is holding precious cargo captive on The Haunted Star in an unknown location. Unraveling this mystery may not take long, but he’s going to be gone at a very opportune time for Carly and her ex, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), to patch things up.

General Hospital Spoilers — Carly Gets Wrapped Up in Drama

There’s nothing that will make Carly remember how she feels about Sonny more than when he’s in trouble. The inverse is true as well. These two have been on-again-off-again for decades at this point and their four weddings and subsequent divorces are a testament to their belief that they can change, forgive, and come back together. So no one should be surprised when it happens again, but that doesn’t mean Drew and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) don’t stand to get hurt — even if they always knew the truth on some level.

When Carly learns that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) is behind a massive takedown of his father, there’s no way she’s going to support it. This will have treacherous consequences for her children and their safety, and she will be stunned that Michael didn’t prioritize that over his own bitter feelings. In other words, Carly is going to be on team Sonny, against her own child. Sadly, Michael’s plan is going to work — at least for a time — and Sonny is going to go to jail. This will leave Carly scrambling to do whatever is necessary to hold his business together while Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) works to free Sonny.

GH Spoilers Leak Distance Makes Drew’s Heart Grow Fonder

Meanwhile, Drew will be delighted to come home from his war with Victor and believe he’s going to slip right back into his relationship with Carly. Time away will only have served to make him feel even more confident that giving Carly another chance was the right decision after she lied to him about Nina being Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) birth mother. Drew is making plans for the future and he expects Carly to be in it.

General Hospital Spoilers — Will Carly Say Yes?

They were finally taking things public, but now there is another hitch in the plan. The Five Families will never respect Carly as an authority over Sonny’s territory if they believe the divorced couple is still on the outs. They have to be convinced that Sonny and Carly are back together, and that means Drew and Carly must continue to keep quiet about their own love affair.

This might not bother Drew at first, but it’s not going to take long for him to realize Carly is more interested in protecting Sonny than she is her relationship with Drew. When Drew proposes to Carly, he’s going to do so out of desperation to glue their relationship back together and pull her away from the trenches she voluntarily climbed into just to protect her ex. Will she stay there, or is Drew’s offer of drama-free bliss finally going to appeal to Carly? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
