The transplant journey is lengthy, and while everyone holds onto hope for a successful outcome, the donor, Sam, may face weeks in the hospital.

As for Lulu, the recipient, there’s no certainty she will awaken; she could remain in a coma for an uncertain duration—four years and counting already!

While they wait for news about the patients, Sam and Lulu’s family members are visibly anxious; Laura Collins (Genie Francis) inquires, “How’s Lulu?” A

lexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) expresses her concern with, “How’s my daughter?”– meanwhile, Lulu’s cousin, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), appears heartbroken as she asks, “What happened?”

Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) soon hears a notification that suggests a dire outcome, echoing the question, “What happened?” His usual stoic demeanor is shattered as he registers the shock on the faces of Laura, Alexis, and Carly, all reflecting the same sense of dread.

It’s clear that something has gone terribly wrong, leaving everyone to wonder who might not pull through, or have pulled through—Lulu or Sam?

At the hospital, the atmosphere is heavy with despair as a fatigued Alexis shares a moment with a grave Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr). They exchange glances, seemingly startled by an unseen sound, while Rocco Falconeri (Finn Francis Carr) and Dante stand frozen in disbelief.

Laura gasps in shock, and Sonny’s expression mirrors the concern, while a serious Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) looks up at a troubled Lucas Jones (Van Hansis).

The scene shifts to a man’s hand holding an engagement ring, and then quickly flashes to a worried Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson); a woman’s voice hisses ominously, “You’re dead to me!” Is it Sasha speaking?

The screen fades to black as a male doctor solemnly announces, “Time of death—5:48.” is it Lucas or Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson)-who died, Sam or Lulu?
