General Hospital Spoilers: Curtis And Portia Celebrate Their Anniversary While Trina Grieves Spencer?

General Hospital spoilers and updates tease Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Portia Ashford (Brook Kerr) will celebrate their anniversary, but is their celebration really appropriate?

Their daughter Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) is inconsolably grieving the death of her soulmate Spencer Cassadine; (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) shouldn’t they be grieving with her?

General Hospital Spoilers: Portia Robinson May Be Relieved Spencer Cassadine’s Gone

Portia tried many times over the last couple of years to dissuade Trina away from Spencer, feeling the entitled white boy was wrong for her daughter. If she hadn’t gotten involved with him, Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) would never have framed her for crimes and she’d already be in a successful career.

The mess with being framed for that sex tape of Cameron Webber (William Lipton) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) never would have happened and Trina would have already graduated.

In Portia’s opinion she’s better off with Spencer gone, and she’ll get over it-she’s still upset that Trina doesn’t want to go back to school. Portia attributes each and every one of Trina’s problems for the last few years to Spencer and his horrible ex-girlfriend!

GH Spoilers: Portia Robinson Stresses To Curtis Ashford The Importance Of Normality

Portia’s the one egging Curtis on to have a big party at the Savoy celebrating their first anniversary-even though they never consummated their marriage.

That might be soon, since Curtis’s cutting edge experimental operation seems to have been successful, although he’ll deal with a lot of physical therapy.

Portia’s more than ready to put the Spencer years behind her, and thinks a party would help Trina get her mind off him too. She keeps stressing the importance of normality in their lives being the best thing to help Trina move on and forget the mistake that was her involvement with Spencer.

General Hospital Spoilers: Hold Up, Wait Just A Minute, This Isn’t Right

Curtis disagrees, having remembered when he was told his father died as a child and how nothing was ever normal again-there’s no way Trina can just pretend Spencer never happened.

There’s not going to be a party and there’s not going to be any forcing normality into Trina’s life-she needs their support not Portia’s disapproval.

He suggests they two go have a romantic dinner at a restaurant of Portia’s choosing, and enlist Auntie Stella Henry (Verneé Watson) to stay with Trina.

How can they party and celebrate their marriage when Trina’s heart is broken and her life is in turmoil-Curtis scolds Portia, telling her that just isn’t right. Besides, there will be more to celebrate when he can walk and be fully functional, and by that time maybe they can party!
