General Hospital Spoilers: Cates Switches Gears, Forces Jason Into Sonny Takedown!
General Hospital spoilers tease that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) may be celebrating a bit prematurely. He’s kept his end of the bargain he made with Agent John Cates (Adam Harrington) to uncover the head of the Pikeman Group.
As viewers know, Cates has been blackmailing Jason with an audio recording of Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) admitting to running the criminal Corinthos Family business while Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) was presumed dead. To keep Carly out of prison, Jason agreed to go undercover.
General Hospital Spoilers – Jason Morgan may have a new assignment!
As part of his deal, Jason let his let everyone believe he has dead for almost three years. But Jason believes he is free. Cates may see things a bit differently since Jason stalled so Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) could give Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) time to escape once Valentin was proven the head of Pikeman.
He could easily decide that Jason didn’t fulfill his end of the bargain and give him a brand new assignment. But he may have completely different leverage now.
GH Spoilers – John Cates has a soft spot for Carly Spencer!
Cates genuinely seems to like Carly, so he may agree to let her off the hook. But that doesn’t mean Cates doesn’t still possible leverage Jason.
It’s very possible that Cates is well aware of the crimes Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) committed when they hacked into the FBI’s computer system using John’s stolen credentials.
He could easily threaten to put both of them in prison if Jason doesn’t take a brand new assignment.
General Hospital Spoilers – Sonny Corinthos is hated by John Cates
Cates and Sonny have quite a dark past. Cates wants nothing more than to put Sonny away for the rest of his life. It’s easy to imagine a scenario where Cates tries to force Jason to take on a new assignment and bring Sonny down.
Whether he uses Carly again as leverage or moves on to Sam and Spinelli it seems unlikely that Jason would ever consider betraying Sonny. But if refuses, would Cates really turn Carly, Sam or Spinelli in? No matter what, it seems like a showdown is brewing between Jason and Cates!
