General Hospital spoilers tease that Agent John Cates (Adam Harrington) hates being in Port Charles. As he recently told Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), she’s been the only friendly face he’s encountered during his extended stay.
Cates is in Port Charles to take down the Pikeman Group with the help of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). As soon as the case is over, he plans to return to Quantico. But Cates isn’t being completely honest with Carly.
General Hospital Spoilers – John Cates is two-faced when it comes to Carly Spencer
As much as Cates says he like Carly and is grateful she saved his life, he’s still using her to keep Jason in check. As viewers know, Jason only agreed to work for the FBI because the spy organization has in its possession a recording of Carly admitting that she was running the Corinthos Organization a few years back.
Carly did take over, but only because her mob boss husband Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) was believed dead at the time. Knowing her family would only be safe if she stepped up, that’s exactly what Carly did. Jason only agreed to infiltrate Pikeman to keep Carly out of prison.
GH Spoilers – The Pikeman Group is now run by Valentin Cassadine
The Pikeman Group was founded by Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart). But Brennan has since been arrested, leaving Valentin as the criminal organization’s only leader.
Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is already on the Valentin but has yet to secure the evidence she needs to put him away. Meanwhile, Cates believes that Anna is the guilty party and has tasked Jason with finding evidence against her.
But Jason is secretly working with Anna under Cates’ nose. But once Valentin is caught, he will sure take all the credit for himself and leave Port Charles.
General Hospital Spoilers – John Cates owes Carly Spencer his life
Several weeks ago, Carly stopped a couple of Sonny’s men from killing Cates, even though they still managed to give him a sound beating. Carly took Cates back to his room at the Metro Court and helped nurse him back to health.
Perhaps he will return the favor by destroying the evidence the FBI has against Carly which would set both Carly and Jason free once and for all.
Perhaps if Jason and Anna allow his to take all the credit, he’ll return the favor by destroying the recording. Cates seems genuinely fond of Cates, so perhaps it won’t take convincing for him to do the right thing?
