General Hospital Spoilers: Carly’s Given A New Lease On Life, Thanks To Mom Bobbie
General Hospital (GH) spoilers that Carly Spencer is about to embark on a new chapter in Port Charles when she officially becomes the new owner of Kelly’s diner.
The character’s portrayer, actress Laura Wright, recently sat down with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) to break down this pivotal moment for Carly, which rolls out the week of July 24th.
GH Spoilers: Bobbie Spencer Will Gift Kelly’s To Her Daughter
Wright is quick to tell SOD that this entire arc was written before actress Jackie Zeman (Bobbie Spencer) passed away. Despite Jacklyn’s passing in May of this year, the show has yet to address Bobbie’s death as of yet. So, Laura explains that Carly won’t “inherit” Kelly’s, rather, she’ll pay her mom $1 for the diner, with the idea that she’ll eventually pay her back the full market price. At some point!
Laura adds that Carly will have major plans for the eatery, which has been in the Spencer family for decades now. She’ll believe that thanks to her experience with the Metro Court, she can turn it back into the “hottest” spot on Port Charles’s waterfront.
GH Spoilers: Kelly’s Will Be The Safety Net Carly Needs
Carly’s had a rough go as of late, thanks to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) tipping off the SEC regarding her insider trading debacle with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). Now, Carly’s boyfriend is serving a three-year prison sentence and she is struggling to pay off a five-million-dollar fine.

Wright tells SOD that Kelly’s will act as a life jacket or safety net for Carly to keep her afloat in light of all her financial woes. It may also be a new chapter that Ms. Spencer can focus on to keep her mind off all the drama in her life and missing Drew so desperately.
