General Hospital Spoilers tease Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) is in for the shock of her life during her stay in Jacksonville, Florida. On a trip to a business seminar in Aruba, Carly’s plane was detoured to the Sunshine State, and she decided to stay put upon her ex-husband, Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) urging since a killer is on the loose back in Port Charles.
Where is My Mother?
Carly has been adamant that Peyton Honeycutt (Linda Purl) — whom Carly has unfortunately reunited with in Florida — and her Jacksonville Beautification Guild will not bowl over the cemetery her adoptive mother, Virginia Benson (Lois Nettleton), is buried in. Carly files papers to seek an injunction against the Guild, which plans to build a parkway where the cemetery exists currently — thereby requiring all bodies in it to be moved to another resting place. Sadly, Peyton has connections in Jacksonville, and Carly no longer does. Might Mrs. Honeycutt be friends with the judge presiding over the case? Either way, Carly loses her case in court, and the judge orders she must relocate Virginia’s remains.
Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) will be by Carly’s side as she arrives at the cemetery to facilitate the removal of her mother’s coffin from her grave. The wear and tear on the coffin over the years since Virginia’s passing in 1998 brings tears to Carly’s eyes. She abruptly calls on the cemetery caretaker and insists a new coffin be provided before her mother is buried again. But when it comes time to actually transfer Virginia’s remains from one coffin to another, there’s no body to be found. The caretaker promptly calls Carly to deliver the news and she cannot believe what she’s hearing. Where is Virginia’s body?
General Hospital Spoilers — Virginia Didn’t Die
Upon receiving this news, Carly heads straight to the cemetery caretaker’s office where a mortician is waiting to speak with her. The brassy Jacksonville native buried inside of Carly seems to come out in this moment where she insists there must be some mistake. Despite all of the phenomenal and unrealistic events that have happened in Carly’s life, she’s still a very grounded and rational woman. How did someone just misplace a body 24 years ago? What happened to Virginia? Was she placed in someone else’s grave? An investigation will reveal there were never any remains to be buried, and that the coffin was always empty. Virginia Benson never died.
GH Spoilers Says Someone Back Home Knows the Truth
Even though The Hook is still roaming free in Port Charles, Carly will feel called to go home and decompress after finding out her adoptive mother never really died. Where is Virginia now — and why did she stage her death? Carly will need the help of Drew and master investigator Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) to get to the bottom of this heartbreaking and mind bending mystery.
