Sonny is ready to play nice — for now — because his heart is quite literally on the line, and he’s banking on surgery to pull him through. Ava, though? She’s scheming to turn his weakness into her win, while Kristina Corinthos Davis (Kate Mansi) is gunning for her with a vengeance.

Sonny has been through the wringer, and this custody truce with Ava was supposed to ease the load. He’s got no fight left in him — not with his heart acting up — and he’s holding out for that surgery to fix it.
But Ava isn’t letting up. She’s plotting to crank up the stress in Sonny’s life, maybe pushing him right over the edge.
She’s digging for dirt, pulling strings, and searching for anything that could tip the scales in her favor. If she keeps poking the bear, Sonny’s next chest clutch could be his last.
A heart attack is looming like a dark cloud, and Ava has her foot on the gas. Will she accidentally — or not so accidentally — send him to an early grave?

Meanwhile, Ava’s own clock might be running out. Kristina has had it with the gallerista’s antics, and she’s ready to make her pay for a laundry list of wrongdoings, including but not limited to Morgan Corinthos’ (Bryan Craig) death, the custody mess, her baby’s death, and now standing by while Sonny suffered in hopes that he might croak.
Kristina might not stop at harsh words this time around when she decides to let Ava have it. A confrontation could turn deadly — Kristina has the blood of a mobster running through her veins, and Ava has pushed her too far.
If Sonny keels over and Kristina takes Ava out, Avery could be left with no one. Both parents gone in one fell swoop? It’s a real possibility, and it leaves us wondering what will happen to her.

So, what happens to Avery if the worst comes true? Enter Mama Carly — AKA Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). She’s got the heart and the history to step up.
If Sonny and Ava both bite the dust, Carly could swoop in to raise Avery, giving her a fierce protector. But will it come to that? Will Kristina latch onto her kid sister in the wake of her dad’s death — on top of Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) and baby Irene’s death — as a means of hanging onto the family she can’t stop losing.
