General Hospital spoilers claim Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) was over the moon sharing the details on Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr) with Marshall Ashford, but he was also happy to finally have some resolution to their marriage — even if it’s dissolution.
Getting a divorce is going to free him up to chase the feelings he’s been dodging for ex-wife Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper), and he sees the light at the end of the tunnel as the investigation into Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting wraps up.
So new intel that points to Portia possibly being guilty of shooting him is going to send Curtis reeling. Will he go back to suspecting his wife is guilty, and how will this hitch him to her for longer than he expected while Portia reaps the benefits of sticking it to Jordan?
Are the Optics Worse Than the Truth?
The police have been oblivious to Portia’s private affairs with Drew, and Curtis has been oblivious to her private affair with Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson). It seems that both are about to come to a screeching halt.
When the police press Portia for an alibi, she’ll be forced to confess where she was at the time Drew was shot — in bed with Isaiah.
Revealing her affair to Curtis means he’ll do the math and realize that the baby on board may not be his.
Portia may struggle with having to tell the truth, but which looks worse: people thinking she might have shot a widely hated man, or people knowing she’s pregnant and doesn’t know who the father is?
GH Spoilers Leak Curtis Can’t Quit Now
When Curtis learns that Portia confessed to him that she is pregnant and let him continue to believe it is his baby, he’s going to be crushed to learn there is a chance it isn’t.
Moreover, he might suspect that she was never going to tell him the truth and might have put him through another paternity scandal all over again. Hindsight won’t help her convince him that this wasn’t her plan.
Still, Curtis is going to feel torn between ditching the woman who has just lied to him — again, and sticking by her side because she is the mother of his children (potentially his children) and he doesn’t want to be required to testify against her.
Will Portia Push Pause Just to Push Back?
This is going to put a real dent in Curtis’ plan to reunite with Jordan, especially since they agreed to tabling intimacy until he was officially divorce.
When it seemed imminent, that was easier to do, but knowing the investigation and trial could wage on for months, there may be no end in sight upon which Jordan and Curtis can mark their beginning.
Given that Portia knows how they feel about each other, she could use this to her advantage to drive a wedge between Curtis and Jordan by pleading with him to stay married to her throughout this ordeal — and who knows how long this could take.
