GH spoilers suggest that Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) isn’t as dead as Ava Jerome (Maura West) believes him to be. In fact, at the end of a recent episode, it was revealed that he’s on some sort of life support, with Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) telling someone over the phone that Cassadine was “stable” and “sleeping”. At least GH fans know he’s alive and well; however, it’s hard to say when he’ll re-enter the land of Port Charles.
GH Spoilers: Will Nikolas Cassadine Official Return To Storylines Anytime Soon?
GH spoilers seem to hint that both Ava and Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) will likely squirm in the weeks and months ahead over Nikolas’s missing body. It looks like they are in the clear with PCPD, but as Austin stated after the police left, dead bodies just don’t get up and move. With that said, actor Adam Huss, who was placed in the role (now and again) for regular Marcus Coloma, recently chatted with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) about his last GH run.
Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) fans may recall Adam playing Lance, who met his demise after a run-in with Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown). He wasn’t on the show long, as Ms. Carter unleashed killer bees on him. As Huss notes, the part was fun to play because the storyline was so “ridiculous”, and Ms. Brown was “wonderful” to work with.
GH Spoilers: How Did Adam Huss Land The Nikolas Cassadine Role?
Huss also talks about how he auditioned a number of times with GH, and that Casting Director Mark Teschner is amazing. Adam states that many casting directors often say that actors do a great job during an audition and that they’ll keep them in mind for other roles; however, Huss notes that Mark “means it”, which is how he landed his stint as Nikolas.
Adam stayed tuned to GH storylines after his auditions to familiarize himself with the storylines and families in town. He even provides an interesting memory during the interview of when, as a child, a SOD cover caught his eye at the grocery store of Nikolas, Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson), and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst). Looks like years later, Huss would come full circle.
GH Spoilers: Adam Huss Jumped Right In, And The Environment Was Amazing
Huss further talks to SOD about how he jumped right into the Nikolas role when he got the call to pinch-hit for Coloma. He had limited time to prepare, so he did watch some key scenes before filming. He also notes that both Teschner and Associate Casting Director Lisa Booth encouraged Adam to reach out if he had questions or needed any additional information to prepare.
As for his first official scene as Nik Cassadine, Adam reveals that Maura West (Ava Jerome) and Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) were “amazing”. When Huss found out that Coloma was exiting the soap opera, he naturally assumed his short stints as Nik would end, too. He then got a call from the daytime drama to finish off Marcus’s storyline. He happily jumped in, even though he had a road trip to cancel, and it was right before the holidays.
With that said, as he read through the script of Nikolas’s final scenes, he realized the intensity and magnitude of the storytelling that he was going to be a part of. He also notes working with talents like Genie Francis (Laura Collins), Avery Pohl (Esme Prince), Nicholas Chavez (Spencer Cassadine), West, and Herbst made everything that much more exciting. Plus, he appreciated the positive and kind support from “passionate” GH fans via social media.
But would Adam Huss return to the soap? He made it clear he would absolutely jump at the opportunity to be on set again.
GH will surely bring Nik back at some point, but will Huss be in the role? Would you like to see him play Cassadine again? Have your say by commenting below. While I liked the actor before Adam as Nicholas he didn't carry the strength that The Cassidine Prince showed. He knuckled under to both Valentine and Victor and became a follower, being dominated by both of them as well as Ava. Adam I believe will carry the full scope of Nichols' character as the family drama unfolds. Hope that they don't keep him in a coma for long. (Of course I'm still hoping that his Grandma Helena will show up and be in the show. Constance Tower is not getting younger, and the chance to see her revise that role would be fantastic, even if just for a few weeks)
