General Hospital news say that there’s a lot of speculation growing about the real reason why Steve Burton decided to take an unexpected break from the hit ABC soap.

While no one really knows what’s going on behind closed doors, there’s a lot of rumors swirling on the internet suggesting that his wife, Michelle Lundstrom, might not have been happy with some of the things that were going on while her husband was filming the soap.
Of course, no one knows if any of that is true but many General Hospital fans have also noticed that Steve kept his distance while he was in character as Jason Morgan whenever he had scenes with Britt, who is played by Kelly Thiebaud.
Kelly herself openly expressed her disappointment by clarifying that she really didn’t see this move coming. The timing, of course, is especially interesting, seeing how their on-screen characters, Jason and Britt, were about to get very hot and heavy.
Not only that, but there was also speculation suggesting that Steve might have had a sex clause in his General Hospital contract just because he wants to protect his marriage.
What’s Really Going On With Steve and Michelle?
Back in January, it was revealed that Jason rescued Britt from drowning in freezing water, but it all happened off screen. If that weren’t enough, Jason and Britt also got very busy under the sheets, but fans didn’t get to see that scene in action, either!
That’s why a lot of people are questioning why there’s so much backstory about Britt and Jason, but no one is seeing any of it actually happen.
And while Britt and Jason have shared a kiss, it wasn’t very steamy or passionate. In fact, it felt like a nothingburger, so to speak.
But whether or not Michelle has anything to do with this, is what fans want to know. So far both Michelle and Steve have not made any comments about the matter just yet.

Oh please stop with this crap! You just can’t stand the fact that SB might be happy with his new wife and simply need some time off. It seems like you’re trying start rumors and controversy. These articles have stated that Michelle won’t “allow” him to do love scenes, and that Kelly (Britt) was mad at him for taking a break (she said she was “disappointed”, because their story was finally taking off), then there was the one saying that Steve might have health problems, and now you’re trying to imply that Michelle and Kelly are feuding over him like a couple of petty, jealous school girls. Give me a break! It is possible that it’s just what he said. Nothing more, nothing less. He wants a break to spend time with his wife and family. Period.
Personally I didn’t see the need for Kelly’s comments about Steve’s decision to take a hiatus. As for the Britt/Jason love story getting hot and heavy I didn’t see that either. Britt/Jason as a romantic pairing even before her leaving canvas was flat in my opinion. No romantic chemistry whatsoever – good friends as the best again in my opinion. I feel both needed a pairing and were thrown together to see if it would stick. Nothing against Kelly, but I do feel she just wasn’t the right fit for the Jason character. I also do not like the way writers made the character so needy upon her return.. Britt has always been self sufficient and knew how to handle her life’s problems now all she can do is call for Jason. Writers don’t seem to care for strong female characters in any way shape or form. I feel SB will return to canvas when the time is right for him and viewers and spoiler writer should stop trying to read something into his comments. SB has every right to take hiatus should he so desire and shouldn’t feel it necessary to give the a-b-c’s to please viewers inquisitive minds.

Steve hasn’t done indepth love scenes for decades so why would he start now? Jason and Sam were extremely popular and their love scenes were not shown in depth at all.

Say it isn’t so. I sure hope Steve Burton’s wife is minding her own career and not trying to derail his. But, if as a couple this is how they do it, respect, and good luck for that marriage lasting.
If Steve cannot act like a soap character, then he should find another job. The “Jason” character is way too important as he is a hitman for the Port Chuck Mob. Please do not kill him off again or have him kidnapped again or have him missing again. REPLACE HIM! Let someone else do for Jason Morgan what Rory Gibson did for Michael Corinthos
Personnely I’ve never been a fan of Joss and her portray of an agent is nothing but funny still seeing the smartass college kid when I watch her.
