General Hospital (GH) spoilers and rumors pose the question if Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) will forgive Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart). Ten or so years is a long time to hold a grudge, and Valentin helped rescue him, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), and Ace Prince-Cassadine (Joey and Jay Clay) in Greenland.
General Hospital Spoilers – Spencer Cassadine’s Ten-Year Grudge
Spencer’s ten-year grudge against Valentin is closely related to his former ten-year grudge against Ava Jerome (Maura West). Ava was going to help get Spencer’s legacy away from Valentin that Valentin “stole” when Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) “died”; but instead she took help from Valentin to get plastic surgery. That is what Spencer and Esmé Prince’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) whole gaslighting scheme to break up Nikolas and Ava was about, but since that time Spencer’s learned some things.
For one thing, he learned that his father had faked his death all that time and was helped by “Uncle” Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) and then he learned Victor wasn’t anyone’s friend. Even Spencer rejected him when he saw him use his own son, Valentin, as a guinea pig for the deadly pathogen he planned to destroy most of the world with.
General Hospital Updates – It Wasn’t Spencer Cassadine’s Score To Settle
Valentin had no idea Nikolas had faked his death when he fell backward out of the top-floor window in the Cassadine mansion on Cassadine Island. Valentin did shoot him but only intended to disable him, not to kill him and he was never accused of Nikolas’ murder. Valentin himself had no idea that Victor was his father or that he was also faking his death, although he did find out later. When Nikolas discovered the codicil to Mikkos Cassadine’s (John Colicos) will that disinherited Valentin, Valentin lost his identity and felt disenfranchised-and he found out Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) was his mother. But when Nikolas fell out that window Spencer was only ten years old-it never was his score to settle.
Now Valentin Cassadine Tried To Help Find Nikolas Cassadine
Now, Valentin tried to help find the missing Nikolas, although they didn’t find him in Chechnya at the former Cassadine property Valentin learned Victor and Nikolas had hidden out in. Spencer realizes Valentin isn’t his enemy, he’s his friend and wasn’t trying to steal Spencer’s birthright when he was ten. Valentin legitimately thought he was the heir, believing Nikolas was dead and knowing nothing about any codicil.
Spencer, taking into account Valentin’s forced sacrifice in Greenland when he very nearly died, might find it in his heart to forgive him. After all, there aren’t very many Cassadines left now and family is important.
