General Hospital spoilers suggest some major moments during the week of August 3-7, as well as some explosive casting news to report! Find out who’s coming and who’s going from the ABC soap over the next five days, below.
Ethan Lovett Exit News
General Hospital fans could feel as if an exit was on the horizon during the close of the Friday, July 24 episode, when the show’s credits revealed that Nathan Dean, who played Ethan Lovett, was officially off contract.
Fast forward to the Monday, July 27 show, and viewers were downright shocked to learn that actor Christian Howard was Ethan’s temporary recast.
This was done via a voiceover before Howard’s first scene as Ethan. Still, even more unexpected was the fact that Howard exited the role during the Friday, July 31 episode when Ethan quickly left the little town. He informed his sister, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening), that he was leaving and was then gone in a flash.
Nathan Dean reprised the Ethan Lovett character in April of this year. He originated the role in 2009 and initially exited in 2012. Still, Dean would return for short runs over the years, specifically in 2013, 2015, and 2020. In addition, actor James Ryan was recast in the role in 2023 for a brief stint.
Multiple Debuts
Speaking of Ethan Lovett’s departure from Port Charles, his need to leave the little town quickly was due to the fact that he saw Hudson at the Metro Court Pool.
Actor Troy Lennon Appel debuted as the character during the Thursday, July 30 show. Hudson is a mysterious businessman, looking for someone specific in the little town; however, now that Ethan is gone, it’ll be interesting to see the lengths Hudson goes through to find him.
In addition, Kelly Kruger entered the canvas on July 30 as well, playing the Serena Baldwin recast. Carly Schroeder was in the part from 1997 to 2003 while on General Hospital’s sister soap, Port Charles, and returned briefly to GH in 2017.
Lastly, fans will see Jacinda Bracken, played by Paige Herschell, back on canvas this week during the Friday, August 7 episode. Her boyfriend, Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson), will have a bone to pick with her!
