Chris McKenna, (Jack Brennan) on General Hospital (GH), recently shared a very sweet post on social media that made many of his ABC fans smile on April 1. And no, it wasn’t an April Fools joke by the look of it. Read on for more details.
An Old Promise To His Mom
Who doesn’t love someone who honors their mom? Well, the real life Jack Brennan really does because he kept a promise to Marianne McKenna that took them half way around the world.
On Wednesday, the GH star took to Instagram and shared some nice pictures of him and his mom in Rome, Italy. Additionally, he told his fans that he finally made good on a promise to take her to the Colosseum.
A Pandemic Promise
In his caption, he mentioned that he’d promised to treat her once the COVID pandemic ended. Well, it’s taken a bit of time, but finally, they made it there. Notably, he picked a good time for it because the city’s amazing at Easter.
Chris McKenna’s post hit some sweet notes with his General Hospital fans. That’s because some of them visited Rome during the holiday season. Meanwhile, others love that he seems like such a caring son.

During Covid, in an effort to keep our spirits up, I gave my mom a picture of the Colosseum and promised I’d take her to Rome when this was all over. I finally made good
Of course, it’s not unusual for Chris McKenna to share photos of his family. In the past, he often posted photos of his cute little boy Spencer. And sometimes, he and his wife share vacation photos. But it’s not all that often he shares about his mom.
Easter In Rome
Italy always has nice appeal with vineyards, quaint villages, and stunning scenery. But, Easter seems rather special. The GH star probably picked the best time because the city has so many holiday traditions.
For anyone lucky enough to be there right now, there are a few “must-do” activities. Perhaps they’ll attend the Easter Sunday Mass at St. Peter’s Square. The only drawback there is the sheer volume of others and it would mean an early start.
Other Possibilities
Perhaps he’ll take her for a special meal. General Hospital fans who visited the place rave about the Colomba di Pasqua, a dove-shaped sweet bread found in almost every bakery.
In Europe right now, winter passes, and out come the flowers. Chris might consider taking his mom to the Villa Borghese gardens. Hopefully, he keeps the photos coming!
