General Hospital star, Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain) lost his mom, Loretta Mathison. Sadly, in October 2021, after a tough battle with brain cancer, she passed away. So, this weekend, Cameron took to social media to remember her with a sweet tribute.
Cameron’s Mom Seemed Very Devoted
From what GH fans know of Loretta, the wife of Bill Mathison was a great mom who held her family together. And that’s obvious because of the love that her famous son so obviously treasures.
On the weekend, the real-life Drew Cain took to his Instagram and shared a family throwback photo set next to a vase of yellow roses, her favorites. In his caption, he wrote: “4 years today since we lost my mom. She battled brain cancer bravely, and even in the most difficult times, she kept on smiling. Just an absolutely loving, devoted, and caring mother.”
Additionally, he talked about how she was “always being there for her sons, always giving, always radiant.” Plus, he reminded ABC fans that she didn’t just dedicate herself to him and his siblings. She also “lived her life helping others,” noting that “she was employed by the Ministry of Health of Ontario, and she managed to still have infinite love for her family.” The loving tribute was concluded with, “I miss you every single day, Mom.”

The comment section was quickly filled with the support of co-stars and followers alike. Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) thought of Loretta’s inner beauty and wrote, “Such an elegant lady, and beautiful on the inside.”
Conversely, recent Emmy Award winner Alley Mills reacted with the words, “So much love to your family.”

A Close Bond
When Cameron Mathison received a diagnosis of cancer of the kidney in 2019 his mother was there by his side. After that, when Loretta went through her own illness, Cameron hoped to be there for her with the same loving compassion.
After her death, Cameron Mathison went public with his mourning through emotional posts that he shared on social media. He indicated that he missed her a lot, and remembered the joy he had with her. Additionally, he deeply felt that his mom “left this world a better place.”
Recently, the daytime drama star shared that he caught up with his dad and from what he said, his father Bill seems to be managing without his beloved wife. Still, death leaves a big void for everyone.
