General Hospital (GH) star Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain) took to social media this weekend and shared some hot and thirsty photos of himself in the gym. But, he’s not been well and explained what was wrong with him. Read on for more details.
Unwell During The Holidays
At the end of December, Cameron took to his Instagram and told his followers that he’d been working out in the mountains of Colorado. However, he also briefly mentioned he’d been feeling a bit sick. It was an interesting post, because he also complained of little snow this year.
After the new year, the real-life Drew Cain posted again and said that he loved sharing the festive season with his two kids. But, he’d been very sick with the flu. Still, he’d been looked after and seemed to be mending.
Flu Became Pneumonia
The latest post Instagram on January 18 revealed just how unwell Cameron Mathison had been. He’s back to working out and keeping that hot body in good condition. In his caption, he let his GH followers know exactly what had taken him down.
In his caption, he wrote:
Slow start to 2026 with the super flu and pneumonia.
But he’s back. And so are the mirror selfies.
Of course, pneumonia is no joke, so his General Hospital fans felt happy to see him looking so well. And of course, his photos made him look simply delectable.

A Nasty Flu From Europe
This year’s flu is a nasty one, and Today revealed that it originated in Europe, arrived in Canada, and now it’s stateside. Additionally, it’s got a name: influenza A H3N2. “It’s a mutated H3N2 variant, called “subclade K.” Per the outlet, it “emerged earlier this year and quickly gained dominance across the Northern hemisphere.”
It’s rushing around Japan, and other folks from Southern Africa also feel flat with it. So, Cameron Mathison hasn’t been alone in suffering from it. Actually, Nancy Lee Grahn also went down with a horrid flu before she took her holiday break.
