General Hospital Comings & Goings Sept 7-11: Two Characters Exit & An Intriguing Debut

General Hospital spoilers imply some bombshells on the horizon in Port Charles during the week of September 7-11, as well as some interesting casting news! Find out who’s coming and who’s going from the ABC soap over the next five days below.

Bye, Bye Jack Brennan

General Hospital spoilers remind fans that Jack Brennan, played by Chris McKenna, officially exited the canvas during the week of August 31.

Ava Jerome (Maura West) slipped Brennan a sleeping pill while at the Metro Court, trying to keep him occupied so Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) could ransack his hotel room to find the blackmailing evidence he had on him.

Brennan was later found dead in the Metro Court Pool by Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) and Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn).

McKenna entered the canvas in February 2025 as the Brennan recast, replacing Charles Mesure.

See You Soon, Laura Collins

Speaking of exits, Port Charles’ mayor, Laura Collins, played by Genie Francis, is taking a leave of absence. Genie is taking her annual summer hiatus while Laura visits Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) and grandson Ace Cassadine (Karis & Kieran Barry) in Ireland. Her last appearance was on Monday, August 31; however, fans will see her return sometime in the fall.

News hit this week that Francis is set to receive the 2026 Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award – the highest honor for this awards ceremony. The actress has played the role of Laura since February 1977. The Daytime Emmys take place on Friday, October 30.

Welcome To Port Charles, William Bain!

Lastly, actor Alimi Ballard debuted as WSB agent William Bain during Thursday, September 3 show.

He’s part of the superspy agency and has been brought in to investigate Brennan’s “disappearance,” so will he get to the bottom of things?

This isn’t Ballard’s first soapy rodeo, as the actor once played Frankie Hubbard on two other ABC soaps, Loving and The City.

He entered Loving in 1993. With that said, he’s also been on primetime, with appearances on Law and Order, Criminal Minds, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The Rookie, and NCIS.
