General Hospital Spoilers: Dante and Elizabeth's Journey to Happiness and Ric's Ultimate Defeat?General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that around four months ago, the ABC soap began chemistry testing Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst).

Right from the start, they captured the hearts of many fans, despite the fact that she and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) were obviously heading towards reconciliation, even if it wasn’t made official yet.

Dante Is Respectful But Skeptical

Now that Liz is officially back with Rick, we’ve noticed Dante being respectful, yet somewhat skeptical.

However, he still seems to favor Liz, suggesting that Dante and Liz could be the ultimate couple.

From the very first moment we witnessed those dedicated scenes of Elizabeth alone with Dante, it was evident that General Hospital was gauging viewer reactions, and indeed, there was a noticeable spark.

Since then, Liz and Dante have shared numerous significant moments together, showing no signs of slowing down.

Before February 2026 We Didn’t See Elizabeth Interact With Dante

Before February 2026, we didn’t really have a chance to see Elizabeth interact much with Dante.

He had been preoccupied with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), deeply in love until her passing in October 2024.

Following that, he was in mourning, raising their children, and then a year later, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) was brought out of her coma.

Fans expected Dante and Lulu to reignite their romance, but that hasn’t happened since her awakening.

Dante Was Still In Mourning In Spite Of Lulu’s Awakening, But Then She Went For “Nathan”

Initially, Dante was in mourning despite Lulu waking up, still holding feelings for him, but he turned her down, leading to a rift between them.

Lulu’s involvement with “Nathan West”, also known as Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey), stirred some jealousy in Dante.

Yet he eventually came to terms with it, realizing he had taken too long and that Lulu was unlikely to choose him.

Meanwhile, Ric Lansing returned to Port Charles shortly before Lulu emerged from her coma, and since his arrival, he has been focused on Liz.

Liz Was Hesitant About Reconciliation With Ric

However, Liz was hesitant about Ric due to his questionable history, including their past where he locked pregnant Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) in a panic room.

He had intended to take baby Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) for himself and Liz, after Liz had had a miscarriage!

Consequently, he became involved with Ava Jerome (Maura West), but that relationship fizzled out, and he faced a kidnapping incident involving Ava, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), and Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi).

This significantly transformed him,  and both Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Elizabeth decided to give Ric another opportunity.

Dante And Elizabeth May Be Endgame

With Liz and Rick rekindling their relationship, it seems like Dante might be out of the picture, right?

Yet, General Hospital continues to place Liz and Dante in scenes together, suggesting they are still contemplating a potential pairing; additionally, there have been rumors about Ric possibly falling ill.

There’s also the possibility that he could revert to his darker tendencies, especially with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) returning, as Ric and Jason have a longstanding animosity fueled by their rivalry for Sonny’s attention.

Therefore, let’s explore why Dante and Liz could be a strong couple and might actually be the endgame, even with Ric back in her life for the time being.

Here’s Why

Right from the start, it’s clear that there’s fantastic chemistry between Liz and Dante; they aced the General Hospital chemistry test  with exceptional results.

Fans began discussing their connection from those initial scenes back in February of this year; additionally, Liz is the first woman we’ve seen Dante connect with since Sam’s passing.

While he was incredibly thankful when Lulu emerged from her four-year coma, and his love for her remains, the reality is that Dante and Lulu are still fractured and not a feasible romantic couple.

However, with Liz, it appears that Dante is beginning to experience some feelings; it’s just a flicker right now, but it has the potential to grow into something much more.

A Large Fan Base Is Shipping Liz And Dante As A Couple

Another reason General Hospital might consider Liz and Dante as a potential endgame couple is the rapidly expanding fan base supporting them.

Super couples attract viewers and boost ratings; we all know this to be true.

Moreover, Elizabeth, as a character, has a dedicated fan following, and people are excited that she finally has a storyline.

By the way, Dante and Liz even have a cute couple name; if you haven’t come across it on soap social media, it’s Elante; fingers crossed that GH will cater to what fans desire.

It seems they genuinely want Liz to be with Dante, and many speculate that Rick is going to mess things up and lose Liz anyway.

Dante And Elizabeth Are Both Good People

Dante and Elizabeth are both good people who strive to do what is right and are generally moral.

However, it’s clear that neither of them is perfect-they have both made mistakes.

Liz really messed up with the Jake Doe situation in the past-she discovered that Jake was actually Jason Morgan but chose not to tell anyone because she wanted to keep him for herself.

So, she lied, and eventually, the truth came out, and he ended up with Sam.

Later, it was revealed that he was actually Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) due to the existence of a secret twin.

Dante Went Undercover With The WSB And Came Back With PTSD

As for Dante, he went undercover with the WSB to take down a criminal who had nearly killed Lulu.

Unfortunately, he became a brainwashed killer and suffered from severe PTSD for a time, which caused a lot of turmoil in his family and made life difficult for Lulu.

However, both Dante and Elizabeth have become solid citizens-they are good parents and decent individuals who have faced many similar challenges.

This shared experience allows Dante and Liz to truly understand each other, both in the past and present.

Their similar life stories are part of the reason why Dante often seeks Liz’s advice; she understands him and does not judge him.

Liz And Dante Could Be Endgame Because Of Their Children

One more reason why Liz and Dante could be endgame is their children; Liz is a wonderful mother to her own boys and shows genuine care for Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr).

She has supported him significantly; recently, Liz even got injured while trying to prevent Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) from taking Rocco away, although Britt ultimately got the upper hand.

It’s worth noting that Rocco wasn’t forcibly taken; he actually wanted to leave.

Additionally, Liz was upfront with Dante regarding Rocco’s doubts and her belief that he shot Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).

In contrast, Lulu was not truthful with him, and lies and dishonesty never work with any relationship worth having.

Dante Was A Great Stepdad to Scout And Danny

Dante has been a great stepdad to Scout Cain (Kayden Brenna Tokarski) and Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) as well.

He supported Sam and Drew’s daughter, and Jason’s son,  so he would surely be good to Liz’s boys-it’s easy to believe both Dante and Liz could be wonderful stepparents to each other’s children.

Additionally, Elizabeth understands the pain of losing a soulmate; therefore, Liz will be compassionate about Dante’s ongoing love and grief for Sam.

She has already shown her support for Dante regarding Sam; both Dante and Liz have experienced the loss of loved ones, and both were taken from them in tragic ways.

Her husband, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth), was killed by Peter August (Wes Ramsey), while his fiancée, Sam, was murdered by Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) after she donated part of her liver to save Lulu.

What About Ric?

Thus, Elizabeth completely comprehends the complex emotions Dante is dealing with-but as far as Ric, our source indicated he might fall ill.

They spoke of a possible blood disease or blood cancer, suggesting it could be a matter of life or death, though it doesn’t mean he will definitely die.

Even if he is okay, it doesn’t guarantee that he and Elizabeth will stay together because, let’s be honest, Rick tends to ruin all his relationships.

Additionally, many fans would prefer to see him reunited with Alexis-they enjoy their snarky dynamic.

It’s easy to  envision Dante and Liz as the final couple, leaving Ric completely heartbroken in the end.

Be sure to catch up on everything happening with GH right now.
