GH Maurice Benard Shares Christmas Lesson On Unselfish Love

General Hospital star Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) took to his social media on Christmas Eve and gave out a message about unselfishness, and the importance of being there for others. Read on for more details.
A Nice Meal & Gifts
The ABC star looked a bit tired but perhaps the grandkids wore him out a bit. Already, he spoke about gratitude this festive season, and kids featured in that. Still, his message was more about unselfishness after Santa arrived bearing gifts.
On his Instagram reel, the real-life Sonny Corinthos also wrote a caption that said, “Merry Christmas, everyone. Sometimes you have to do things you really don’t wanna do for the love of others!!!”
Expanding On It
When he spoke in the reel, ABC fans heard him say that they’d all enjoyed a nice meal and they all opened presents. He also got his face “painted…by TT,” his grandchild. Oh, and his grandson, cute little Milo also got into the fun of it. Well, it wasn’t “the greatest.”

Next, Maurice Benard told his General Hospital fans that TT wanted him to “babysit her baby.” The doll is named “Olga,” and Maurice showed it to his audience. Perhaps it was from the So Truly Real line because it looked so real. He held it on his lap.
Next, he said that sometimes you have to do things to make others happy even if it “feels weird.”
Fans React
In the comment section, many GH fans told Maurice that they love how he so unselfishly engages with his grandchildren. One of them wrote, “The best gift you can ever give to children is the gift of unconditional love and it’s so apparent that you do that for your grandkids. Amazing! “
Here are a few more responses from the discussion:
- What a great sport and grandpa you are. Grandkids bring a different level of love to our lives…a grander love.
- Precious moments! You’re a wonderful grandfather!
- You’re a great grandpa.
- Love the little baby you are babysitting. Enjoy every moment.
- …your (sic) in the best of hands, especially when they paint your face and let u babysit!!
- Best Gpa ever! They’ll never forget these moments with you.
The Real Spirit Of Christmas
Despite having a red face from face-painting, and having to babysit a not-real baby, it certainly seemed that Maurice doesn’t really mind anything when it comes to his family. And, as Princess Catherine demonstrated this year, that’s the real spirit of giving. Reaching out, helping others, being there for others is what matters.
What are your thoughts about Maurice Benard’s message of “doing things you really don’t wanna do for the love of others!!!”? Do you agree that it’s not always easy, but very generous?
