General Hospital Spoilers: Surprise! It’s Kevin - Or Is It Ryan?

General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal Jon Lindstrom has returned as Kevin Collins-or is it Ryan Chamberlain? After a year, it’s been revealed he begins reprising his role on December 2.

Home For The Holidays

Lindstrom’s Kevin has been absent from Port Charles since last December, and it has recently been reported that he is in Dublin, Ireland.

Now, Lindstrom is set to bring Kevin back on December 2, just in time to get involved in the current turmoil surrounding Laura Collins (Genie Francis). Kevin’s wife has just secured re-election as Mayor of Port Charles, but the situation took a dramatic turn when she discovered a dead man in her trunk; a man she had previously threatened publicly.

She and  Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) worked to cover up Professor Henry Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) murder and the apparent framing of Laura. Kevin is about to find himself caught in the middle of it all… or kept completely unaware, possibly.

Jon Lindstrom And The LA-NY Hip Hop-Make That LA-NY-ATL!

Daytime fans might be aware that Lindstrom has remained active in the genre since his departure from GH; his social media has a notation, “doing the LA-NY hip-hop”. Make that the LA-NY-ATL hip-hop, since the soap’s premiere in February, Lindstrom has taken on the role of Fairmont Crest’s antagonist, Joey Armstrong, in Beyond The Gates.

Playing villainous roles is something the actor is quite familiar with. Long before he became Joey or Kevin, Lindstrom first appeared in GH as Ryan Chamberlain, the malevolent twin brother of Kevin.

Ryan met his end in 2023 after a long history of wicked deeds; naturally, skeptical GH fans are bound to wonder…is this truly Kevin?

Lindstrom’s Wanted To Return As Kevin, And The ABC Soap Did, It’s Been Hard To Work Out

For the actor currently portraying Joey Armstrong on Beyond the Gates, managing his schedule has been the main challenge. “Finding the time has been quite tough,” Lindstrom shares, as he films the new CBS soap in Atlanta. Reflecting on his career, Lindstrom notes that the choice to leave Port Charles for Fairmont Crest was not a difficult one.

“To be fair to myself, it had dwindled down to just one or two appearances a month, so Kevin had been relatively inactive for quite a while,” he observes. “I haven’t witnessed him in a truly engaging storyline since Port Charles, unless Ryan was involved, so it was pretty much an obvious decision.”

Lindstrom Knew Taking On The BTG Role Would Impact His Port Charles Appearances

He knew that taking the job at BTG would affect his GH appearances. “When I called Frank Valentini, to say I’d be doing Beyond the Gates on Election Day 2024, he asked, ‘Can you do both?'” Lindstrom recalls. “I replied, ‘Technically, yes, since I’m not under contract-the only issue is they’re 2,000 miles apart.’ There were logistical challenges over the past year where they would occasionally ask if I was free for an episode, but that’s hard for me because Gates takes a lot of my time.” However, GH managed to make a visit happen.
