General Hospital star Steve Burton, who plays the role of Jason Morgan on the ABC daytime drama, knows how to get a debate going. And this week, he got a lot of people talking about the best coffee. Read on for more details.

The Great Coffee Debate

The coffee debate arrived when the real-life Jason Morgan and his wife, Michelle Lundstrom, were driving somewhere. In his Instagram reel, he first pointed at Dunkin’ Donuts on the roadside. Then he turned and pointed across the road towards Starbucks.

In his caption, the GH star explained a dilemma. Steve said:

You know I LOVE coffee. When we are on the road, we always try to find local coffee spots but you know when we can’t these two work also. Some swear by Dunkin’, others can’t function without Starbucks… where do you stand in the great coffee divide?

Well the General Hospital actor might have joked a bit, but coffee is a serious thing in the lives of many ABC fans.

A Comparison By Steve Burton’s Fans

In the comment section, there’s definitely a divide between those who prefer Dunkin’ Donuts to Starbucks. In desperation though, it seems that any sort of coffee will do. One fan opined, “Not even a competition bro! Dunkin taste like [sh*t].”

Here are a few other responses from the discussion:

  • Michelle Lundstrom: Dunkin was good in the 90s but just for a toasted blueberry muffin with buttaaah.
  • Starbucks only cause it’s stronger coffee – I love both.
  • Dunkin is delicious and affordable.
  • I make my coffee at home; and on Sundays, I get coffee at church. I do like Starbucks’s ground coffee, the most.
  • Personally, I prefer Starbucks. Can’t live without my occasional frappuccino.
  • I love them both, but Dunkin is much cheaper.

Is Coffee Good?

Everyone knows that Steve Burton is into well-being, exercise and fitness. So, is it okay to drink coffee? Well, it turns out that your morning cup does more than just wake you up. According to research cited by Harvard EDU, for most people, coffee is generally good “in moderation,” with science pointing toward “health benefits rather than harm.”

Some good things include a lower risk of “type 2 diabetes, heart disease,” and serious liver conditions like “cirrhosis and liver cancer.” As for GH fans, it seems that the cost factor is huge when it comes to choices. Overall, both famous coffee outlets seem to get about the same amount of support.

What are your thoughts? Like Steve, do you get undecided on which outlet to buy from? Do you have a favorite brand, or do you stay well away from the stuff? Let us know in the comment section below, and come back here often for all your General Hospital cast news and updates.
