General Hospital star Cameron Mathison, who plays Drew Cain, was at the Baby2Baby Gala this weekend. It’s the glitziest fundraising event of the year for kids in need. This year’s event at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood set a whole new record by raising $18 million. Read on for more details.
A Photo & A Tribute
Mathison took to his Instagram account on Monday, and shared a photo of himself looking all polished up and very smart. The real-life Drew Cain wrote quite a long caption about it. Remember, he lost his home in the LA fires, and this year, he told his GH fans that some of the fundraiser went to help people affected by them.
The ABC star added, “So very grateful and honored to be a guest at the Paul Mitchell table last night for the beautiful and deeply meaningful @baby2baby gala.” He also mentioned the record setting amount of cash.
He said, “It was a fundraiser like no other. Almost $20 million were raised in one night to support children and families in need, with a special focus on those affected by the devastating LA fires.”
Cameron Mathison also wrote, “A lot of thanks to @michaelinedejoria and @kellygores for hosting me and all that you do for such incredible causes.”
Famous People Doing Good Things
The gala’s main sponsor is the hair care company Paul Mitchell. The occasion is used to celebrate the good deeds of famous influencers. And this year, the hard-working tennis icon, Serena Williams was deemed most worthy of the “Giving Tree Award.”
The likes of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were also there, supporting their friend, Serena. Later, they went off to the birthday party for Kris Jenner hosted by Jeff Bezos. But GH fans were more interested in Cameron Mathison.
