General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Leaves Crime Life Behind – Mike Changed His Perspective
General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that fans can’t help but be skeptical about Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) epiphany about leaving the mob.
After all, he debuted as Port Charles’ number one mob boss in the early 1990s and has spent over three decades in the world of organized crime. Still, is the show about to transform this character to another level?
His Dream Changed His Perspective
Both Sonny and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) have been mulling over the idea of getting out of the business for a while now. Stone Cold needs to be there for his son, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), now that he’s a single dad, and can’t risk his life anymore.
Still, post-surgery, for his heart condition, Sonny got a visit from his dad, Mike Corbin (Max Gail) in a dream. The scenes between the two were both heartwarming and beautiful.
Mike heard about his son’s desire to get out of the mob and encouraged him to do so. This rocked Sonny’s world upon waking up; however, considering everything that’s going on in his world, will he be able to walk away from his “business”?
Nixon Falls Revisited?
It’s a debate both characters and fans often get into: is Sonny a good person, considering all the terrible things he’s done and continues to do, all in the name of the mob? Fans saw Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliott) and Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) recently get into over Sonny and his activities.
He’s a mob boss with a heart of gold … but can a mob boss have a heart at all?
Still, if Sonny can leave his mob days behind him, considering how hard that may be (especially in light of a current unknown threat targeting him), will fans see a transformation in this character? GH viewers got a small taste of it when he suffered from amnesia and lived in Nixon Falls. With that said, once he “remembered all”, it was back to the same old Sonny.
But if Sonny does leave the cut-throat world of crime behind, will he become more like his “Mike” persona in the aftermath of leaving the mob?
