GH Cameron Mathison Grateful After Home Destruction
General Hospital star Cameron Mathison, (Drew Cain) reached out to his friends and fans on social media. The message arrived on February 19 and he expressed his gratitude for all the help and best wishes after he lost his family home in the L.A fires.

The bad news about the destruction of the lovely Altadena family home originated on Instagram, and he has done some updates already. Already, he explained on The Jennifer Hudson Show that it was a dreadful exprience. The ABC star noted, it was “one of the most unimaginably overwhelming logistical and emotional traumas that you can imagine.”

Celebrating The Soaps reported that fortunately, none of Mathison’s family were injured. They were all safe, but their home, full of memories and dreams for the future was gone forever. Of course, many other less fortunate people also lost their homes. And, many celebrities and General Hospital stars reached out to help where they could.
The Latest Update Reveals Gratitude
GH fans also saw the real-life Drew Cain was humble when he discussed his traumatic loss on Good Morning America. At the time, Cameron, a cancer survivor, described how he lost all his clothes, except for a pair of shoes, pants, “and a hoodie.” However, he seemed determined to focus on being grateful that nobody died in his family.

In his video on Tuesday, Cameron Matheson again focused on the positives. On Instagram, he focused on the love and assistance that he got from so many people. Furthermore, he said that he found a “nice rental” with multilayers and a “cold plunge” pool upstairs.
So Much Support
“I’ve received so much unbelievable support and a lot of questions as to how I’m doing,” he said. GH fans who love Drew Cain’s actor also heard Mathison say that “the first three weeks were a little tricky.” However, he’s grateful that he found “a new rental… in Silver Lake.”
The General Hospital star added, “I managed to save [a] beautiful little Buddha.” And, it sits in pride of place near a couch donated by his “friend, Eva LaRue.” Many other things were offered, like “places to stay,” and piles of “dishes.” Most of all though, the ABC star talked about “so much kindness and generosity” that touched his heart.
Cameron Mathison ended by saying how much he wanted to express his “thanks to everybody,” adding, “I just love you guys.” Additionally, he appreciated “the support from all of you.”
Other ABC stars responded, and among them was kind-hearted Finola Hughes. Fans of the drama appreciated his gratitude during this difficult time. One of them wrote, “You have…the most beautiful attitude! Good things are coming your way I know it, for you & fam.”
